Well I'l tell you the reason I don't like it, facebook
With all the updates on everyones status, the constant invites, the fact that it feels{/i]like a scam even though it probably isn't anymore. But these reasons go for all facebook games. I have noting against the the style or the pacing, but I just don't want to game on facebook, so I just play my younger brothers harvest moon every once and a while, better farming experience anyway.

Some friends wanted me to join and I eventually relented. I've enjoyed making a farm overrun with mutant plants, slowly decaying as its swallowed up by an encroaching jungle. I'm pretty sure Zynga never intended Farmville to be used this way but its the sort of iconoclasm that really appeals to me. :)

If they'd only add roving packs of zombies I'd be content. That's probably not in their queue though, I mean what would you harvest from a zombie? ;)

Yeah one of my major complaints about it and the reason I only play for a few weeks at a time and then stop completely is that at some point the candy land happiness of it drives me insane. Just add a meat hook or something.. slaughtered pig... anything!

I played Cafe Ville for maybe a month (because some girl I liked at the time told me to), then I realized how stupid those games were and went back to Fallout 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R...

Guess it is another one of those stupid, pointless, never going to get anywhere, incredibly addictive games... which is why I'm staying away...

I have never played Farmville but my flatmates were addicted to it for a while. I can see the appeal since it's very similar to Restaurant City, the FB game that I'm currently addicted to. So I can speculate that my favourite thing about Farmville would be watching my farm slowly grow from the measly little starting dot on the map to a fully-grown and personally-customized behemoth of a farm that's chock full of interesting items that fit a general theme.

I like farmville because it keeps idiots occupied so they don't try to talk to me, or worse try to get me to help them with something.

I like how a discussion about what you like about Farmville instantly turned into three pages of "What do you hate about Farmville"

I don't play it. Largely because I get the overwhelming sense that there are far [http://www.continuitygame.com/] better [http://www.kongregate.com/games/2DArray/the-company-of-myself] flash [http://www.kongregate.com/games/AdamAtomic/canabalt] games [http://www.kongregate.com/games/rowlandrose/music-bounce] out [http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/shift] there. i don't know much about farmville or facebook (i don't even have an account) but there was an article on digg.com the other day that linked to a site that showed for the first time ever, facebook.com was the most visited site on the internet in the U.S.

google.com was number 2.

i was pretty stunned by that.

Yeah I get a kick out of this holier than thou attitude. Following any thread concerning Zynga/Farmville or any combination you quickly can assertain that: (These are observations and not necessarily my opinion!)
1 Facebook users don't know what a game is.
2 Facebook users don't know how to use the internet.
3 Facebook users have a low brain capacity and can do nothing other than click and do mindless things.
4 Facebook users are uninformed.

Also, if you read through the threads you can assertain that: (again, observations and not my opinion)
1. Anyone that hates farmville is a gamer.
2. Farmville users are old.
3. Farmville users are women.
4. Gamers play FPS. No other game genre qualifies.
5. Gamers are so informed that they know everything there is to know about every game company and game produced.
6. A democratic poll requires the voter to know everything about what they are voting for or against.
7. General Math: 3-4 million gamers are greater than 85 million farmville players.

Anyway, I also like how they fix things constantly. I'm still waiting for Majesty 2 to fix some things that they've been promising for months. Whereas I had a neighbor problem with neighbors being blank and not showing up and whatnot and now it's fixed.

If you're referring to March Madness, it's more that not even Turbine as spammed about it as much as Zynga has. Plus, Facebook Connect on this site, and the majority of the Zynga fanbase that sticks around long enough to post something seems to view the people moaning about Zynga as people who obviously can't see the majesty of Zynga and that they (the complainers) play bad games and/or whining about how they are losing to a bunch of outsiders. Or at least that's the impression I get. Fighting fire with fire, and all that. Anyway, I'm veering off topic.

Yeah MM is indeed madness. Especially following Zynga vs current contender. I guess the facebook connect thing is new for MM? Seems like it's getting as much of a lashing as Zynga is.
