And yeah, getting negative karma for stealing from the raiders I just slaughtered needs to die a painful death.
You lose karma for that because you aren't stealing from the NCR, not the gagngers. Damn near everything they own is stolen/appropriated from the 'good' faction.

OT: I'd like less robotic movement and more QA. Also, it would be neat to hold onto VATS and give it cinematic controls and a record feature. Save your favorite triple-backflip headshots -- or that time you killed Vulpes in Nipton with an arm shot, and the camera followed his rapidly-glitching arm all the way to the backed-up cars outside the Mojave Outpost. <3

I want it to be as atmospheric and haunting as Fallout 3, then I'll be happy.
So much this. Don't get me wrong, New Vegas was a great game, save for all the crashes and bugs and whatnot, but it just didn't feel... right. I have been replaying it a bit lately, and it feels so much more closed than FO3. You more or less have to follow the main quest up 'til Vegas before you can do anything else, or Cazadores and Deathclaws will rip you a new one every time you step off the highway. It may have been that I live near DC, and go every month or two that gave FO3 the atmosphere I loved, or maybe it was the fact that the NCR is no Brotherhood of Steel and Caesar's Legion isn't nearly as cool as the Enclave. Not entirely sure.

Sorry about the rambling; 2:30am is not the best time to form coherent thoughts.

I'd like a Fallout Game that took place immediately after the war that lets you play as an intelligent Super Mutant such as Fawkes as you fight your war through confused chinese power-armored soldiers. And no karma, that noise it makes whenever you steal something makes me sad.

Two words: London setting!
I'm an American, I support this.
Europe has a SHIT ton of places, the London setting would mean no Vault boys to FUCK it up.

What I loved Fallout New Vegas for it sacrificed its atmoshpere to head back to the dark humor roots of the first 3 games. Fallout 3, you could sequence break, SURE you could enjoy the story, but in New Vegas, the world WAS a character, which made exploring it more fun. Having a middle ground game would be 100% great, but as long as they don't try to make it serious, the games were all Dark Humor before this point, don't fuck it up with a new one.

Get rid of fucking Gamebryo.
Pretty much just that for a start; Gamebryo is starting to feel antiquated. Plus its gltichy to the extreme.
As for anything else, I'm not too bothered, but maybe a slight modification of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system; currently I can't help but feel certain attributes are waaay better than others (i.e. Intelligence; the skill points boost rapidly adds up and makes your character get better far quicker.)
Oh and some perks are just darned useless; for example, I've never seen the point in Lifegiver; an extra 30 HP is nothing really, especially when the Legendary Deathclaw or Legionary Assassins armed with 12.7mm SMGs and Assault Carbines are chipping away at it.
The only other thing I could really ask for is a larger area to explore.

Gameplay mechanics of NV. I liked the vats focus on 3 but it got tiring and shooting without it was almost pointless for long distances.

Fresh story, I liked 3's but I know many NV fans hated it so a fresh new story would be needed.

Settings as creepy and an open world focus like 3. NV was too closed off and it almost felt linear in places as a result. Level scaling is essential for this, make enemies harder but still killable.

Gotta sort out the bugs. NV bugs were inexcusable and I had no problems with 3 but I know many did so this shit has to stop. The engine has been around for a while so there's no reason to sort it all out.

Make more tragic stories, I'm not a fan of the humour side of the games. I liked finding burnt love notes next to two skeletons on a bed hugging.

Karma is a little bit stupid, make it so when you are seen doing a bad act I lose karma but it makes no sense I lose karma and have people coming after me when no one has seen me do anything wrong.

Personally, I want turn based combat back. But I know that isn't realistic. So instead I will just wish for is a good story that makes me want to play through to the end.

Oh... and a Nevada based setting. Fallout is set in Nevada and the surrounding areas... No matter what Fallout 3 says.

I know that Fallout has been a big topic recently for what ever reason but while I was playing I just thought of how cool it would be to have something like weather in the game. Obviously in NV you were in the Mojave so rain would have been a little out of place but it still does rain occasionally in the desert so maybe if they had one story mission that had rain. Though it would be scripted it would still be cool. And where ever they have the next game I bet it will rain there so yeah. Weather. Sounds cool to me. How about you? What do you want added?

EDIT: Also no tunnels. Or if they REALLY have to make them less repetitive. I get it it's a ghoul and yes I have to climb these stairs. It got boring fast. Its the only reason I don't give FO3 higher than a 9.3
There would be a problem with scripted rain during missions, since in Fallout you could abandoen the mission half/way through and just make it rain forever.

OT: I want to see the humor and atmosphere of New Vegas and the polish of Fallout 3.

I agree with kayisking... if we got Fallout 3's polish and New Vegas's humor and atmosphere I'd be happy.

Yeah maybe the scripted part wouldnt work..UNLESS! Imagine the battle of Hoover Damn while it's Raining. I'm sorry but I honestly think that would be the COOLEST thing ever. Torrential downpour while the final fight is waged. ahhhh I would pay 20 bucks for that alone.

New Vegas' story was fresh.

Fallout 1 was about The Master using FEV to create the next, perfect evolution of huamnity.

Fallout 2 was about the Enclave using FEV to destroy the people of the mainland.

Fallout 3 was about the Enclave using FEV to destroy the people of the mainland. (that sounds very familiar).

Fallout: New Vegas was about the political turmoil of the Mojave, and the war between the NCR and Caesar's Legion.

A coop mode like in borderlands(can join and leave without impacting the host).
A new engine for less bugs.
Transportation:horses, trains, bus, motocycles, bicycle, trains(the one in mccarn dosen't count).
Make the player to depend less on V.A.T.S.
Change the crosshair.
To buy more houses.
To create your own faction.
To take over cities and develeop them.
No cazadors.
Being in the US is getting boring,it should be in someplace like Middle East,Europe.
To take more bounties.
To make notes for yourself.(and they'll be in Data-->misc)
Romance(getting married,flirting,cheating)
To enslave people for youself and also to sell them.
Weather effects(snow,raining,hot sun,cloudly)
Destructable enviorments.
if romance is implamented then give us the choice to bring the kids along with us.
To choose between the good and the bad faction(s)(like in NV)
