I'll wait.
As will I. If BioWare manages to meet (or, fingers crossed, exceed) my absurdly high hopes for the end of this epic series, I would be happy to wait at least twice as long as the projected "more than a year" time frame to get it. It would be painful, but I could do it.

Ok just before I go, you may have disliked the planet scanning mechanic in the game but it wasn't groundbreaking, your essentially complaining that the way to make the game slightly easier was a *****. You can completely avoid it if you do so please.

OT: What I would like to see (as was mentioned) would be how the females look in the different races, the skills to be more akin to the first game, and my decisions to actually matter. Please Bioware, give me something more than just a bloody email.

[sub]Edit: I'm also the minority who don't want to see Tali's face, mostly because of the rage it will create. It will do more harm than good and you know it![/sub]

A man-on-man romance option would be excellent. But I fear that will not happen.
Hm, I'm going to agree with this. It seems the lack of this particular option for certain players seems unfair and unbalanced when we've already had female-female in ME1 and ME2 (sorta), and it's been like this for two games now.
I heard that Kaidan was initially going to be a male-male romance option in the first game, but the content got cut. Personally I'd like to see all teammates allowed as potential romances for both genders, but then I'm getting unrealistic, eh?

Come on, it adds replayability! :p

I'm still in support of a short (six to eight hours, max) split-screen cooperative mode featuring two new characters that might be involved in some event that takes place before or during Mass Effect 3's events, and they would not interact with Shepard or their crew at all. It's an optional side-story.
Now obviously some are going to be opposed to this, but if it were to come to be, then I think the dialogue system would work to have both characters involved in a conversation, or the cutscenes would be linear with no player interaction, ie the whole mini campaign focuses on combat.

On the subject of dialogue; more character interaction. I felt there was too little dialogue with my squad and crew in Mass Effect 2 compared to the first game. Or maybe it was that whole 'time flies' thing, I don't know.

Finally, Garrus needs to drop one liners during dramatic scenes, then put on some sunglasses and walk off screen really fast accompanied by a certain iconic yell...

Tali's, fucking, face.

I go through two games and don't get to see my loves face when she fucks me? Bioware is beyond cock blocking at this point.
Wow. This is, oddly enough, the most popular request on this thread. Weird. Didn't think so many would agree with me.

Realistically, probably a combination of the best features from both the first and second games. And to finally see what a quarian looks like under the mask.
Personally, this combination would be:
-The environments of ME1 with the frame-skip fix of ME2. ME1 was beautiful, but ME2's environments were very dull. Compare the grand Citadel to ugly little Omega.
-The amazing story-telling of ME1 as opposed to the asinine follower missions of ME2
-The ammo system of ME2 that actually made combat feel imperative
-All of the RPG elements of ME1. All. Of. Them. Gimme my customizable character and huge ass inventory (but do come up with a better management system). ME2 hardly classified as a shooter RPG.

Some new stuff would be:
-A new way to mine resources (or get rid of them entirely). The first two games were good attempts, but maybe ask "Am I having fun?" while actually mining.
-Planet exploration. Do it. If they could make each planet a mini-sandbox of awesomeness, the game would be amazing. However, ME1's "run around cookie-cutter desolate planet looking for objective" doesn't really count and ME2 kinda got rid of it altogether.
-I'll reserve this for later.

Tali.

Fine, I'll post a longer answer!
Quarians and the Geth joining forces. Legion being a squadmember before the end of the bloody game.
The triumphant return of the Mako!

A release date?

As long as they keep the story driven RPG aspect and don't fumble the story I'll be happy as can be.

Oh and this:

Tali's damn face.
from what I've heard, its going to be around 2013 however we do have the DLCs to come which will bridge ME2 to ME3 (I call it ME2.5, very whimsicality)

I suppose the only more logical thing I can think of, is more content (ie. more cities, dialogue) even though they are planning to do so anyway

I actually thought there was more. There were more squad members, thus, more talky-talky.

If any character would do that, it would most certainly be him. Tali may be my lady, but Garrus is my bro.

Personally I think that the main problem with the mako was not the Mako, but rather the terrain they used it on. If it was a tad better designed the mako would have been more awesome than it was already, which was pretty damn awesome.

I think ME2 suffers from the loss of that sense of scale. It just feels like a string of setpieces sometimes.

Well, first off, I'd like the gunplay to stay exactly where it is. Having the combat work like a 3rd person shooter with the possibility to improve your abilities and stats a little is perfect.

I don't know why people complain about Mass Effect 2's combat. I keep hearing how it's not an rpg. Why? Because of the combat? An rpg is a game that places more importance on the story and history of the universe the game is based in than any other part of the game. That's DEFINITELY what Mass Effect does. I love turn-based rpg's and other old-school rpg combat, but it just doesn't fit with the Mass Effect universe like good 3rd person shooting does.

Anyway, that's off track.

The thing I'd LOVE for them to do, is either replace or properly train the male voice actor for Shepard, because he is a thousand times worse than the female actor.

As others have probably said, keep up with having our decisions in our last game affecting ME3, but add more to it with very drastic consequences. This IS the finale, after all. This needs to be a masterpiece.

I LOVED the characers of ME2 way better than ME1, but I could deal with bringing back the oldies, as long as they work on their characters a bit.

Kind of the same as the gunplay, keep the guns the same as ME2, but add more of them please. 2 guns for each type isn't enough.

Okay, you got me there. There were more squadmates to talk to, but they seemed to say less. I suppose it makes sense though, balances it out and such.

Also; seeing Tali's face is something I can agree on. Just so long as she doesn't look like a predator.

Perhaps I am the only person who does not want to see Tali's face. odds are high that whatever we think we want will not be what it is and then there will be backlash and ugly compromises.

Oh well. The game is likely to be excellent regardless.

The only thing I really demand is a conclusion. I love the franchise, but this particular narrative has to end with Mass Effect 3, I think. Don't draw it out, Bioware.
Alright, don't make me look up the quote somewhere, but Bioware's gone on the record as saying that even if the Mass Effect universe goes on, this trilogy was all about Shepherd's story, and that one ends with ME3.

So they may do more Mass effect games, but this is it for Shepherd and this particular story/series. Take that for what you will.
