Not much at all. I like getting achievements but that number holds no real semblance of meaning to me. Just another number.

The points themselves mean nothing to me. Some of the achievements do, however. Anything that took some effort makes me kinda proud when I look at them.

Meh there just something fun microsoft added into the games. I know it sounds really shallow but its easier to tell people apart from the amount of gamerscore
<10K- Usually plays online games like cod or halo, usually a bit of a dick
10k-30k- a human being who plays lots of different games and is learning about a variety of different genres which is always good
31k+ - usually an achievement whore, not always a bad thing mind.
These are really shallow and obviously its better to talk to them but it can give a good starting point on most people
I disagree.
I have 5000 points, I don't play online and I have about 15 games which I play on and off casually. had my 360 for a year.
When I am online I am not a dick and just enjoy playing the game, only using my mic when neccessarry.
So I am actually quite insulted by this.

doesn't really bother me, it can keep things interesting competing against friends, but you buy a game for the game not the achievements.

I'm sitting on 26,250 right now, but I don't think of it meaning I'm better than someone with a lower score, or even worse than someone with a higher score. I just consider a meter showing how many games I play, and how much I play each one to completion.

Gamerscores are a lot like getting a Hi-Score back in the day on a particular arcade cabinet... only less meaningful. I don't care about them, they mean nothing to me. I believe there was a VG cats comic making fun of them in the form of 'dick hats.'

My gamerscore as a whole means nothing to me, but my score on each individual game is something that I usually use to gauge how far I am/how well I'm doing/whether or not I'm good at the game. The whole gamerscore is nice though, although it doesn't actually mean anything. Still, it's a encouraging to see that you have a very high gamerscore.

I guess its the same feeling as getting the high score on an arcade cabinet. A sense of accomplishment. I mean the first time I play a game I won't go looking for extra achievements. I just play the game and if that unlocks achievements then cool. It's only when I've completed the game that I tool up and go achievement whoring.

Basically, gamerscore is a way to have a dick waving contest with your friends where nobody wins. Nor does it matter.

I like the fact that we have achievements/trophies and whatnot - it gives you added challenges other than just completing a game. But yes, the gamerscore thing is kind of pointless. They should do something else with achievements besides points though, Like maybe giving your little avatar thing a lancer when you complete gears 2 on insane or something. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass and going off topic here, but the main idea is: no, my gamerscore doesn't matter to me a bit (although I hate that it doesn't end with a five or zero...).

I get the same feeling getting 1000 in a game as I do when I beat the game. That somehow I was able to beat the devs. It is them or me and this time I came out on top. That and I do have a few friends who I am in a friendly competition with. Being able to talk smack to them about thier gamerscore is fun.
