I eat anything I run across essentially. Strange foreign fruits and vegetables, parts of the animal most people won't eat like brains or eyes or intestines. Fish with the head on them. Pickled fruit. Mushrooms, mollusks and moldy cheese. They all have their charm, and I don't think I've ever met a food I didn't like with a few exceptions for acquired tastes. I think most people are too delicate in their appetites. I have a friend for instance who can't eat fish with the head on it. What's the difference? Another friend of mine was at our house once, enjoying some nopales. "Mmm" he says, "This is really good. What... *Mulph.* What is this?" "Oh that's cactus." He looked dead pan, put down his fork, spat out what he had in his mouth and stopped eating. I don't understand some people. In any event, I keep an open mind about food.
As for health or ethical reasons, I won't eat anything with a sufficient IQ like monkeys or dolphins or people. I also try to stay clear of carcinogens like sodium benzoate. Aspartame is also on my avoid list, for a number of reasons. If you looked into it, it's disturbing the amount of problems that arise form consuming it and the shenanigans they had to pull to get it past the FDA. These shenanigans include bribes, visibly doctored reports, firings and Donald Rumsfeld.
