I WISH I was allergic to dairy, that would teach me a lesson. As-is, all I'm allergic to are fish and grass.
And willpower it seems. Not that I'm judging...
Sorry, this didn't quite make sense to me, are you accusing me of making myself feel better via a moral code (as per previous post), or something else separately ie. what is the "and" attached to? Because I assure you, I don't feel particularly pleased with myself. I also disapprove of food welfare because while they might do nice things for animals, they don't do much to address the other issues with meat (environmental and human damage).

Maybe willpower will improve with time. I haven't gone into a supermarket to stroke the dairy isle for a month now!

I don't eat granola bars, especially the chewy ones. They're damn delicious, and that's the problem. If I have one, I crave more. By the time my granola bar craving is satisfying, I've had quite a bit.

You know what a lot of granola bars do to my system?

I'm glued to a toilet for at least an entire day expelling what I'm guessing at some point is nothing more than fiber and gastric acid.

I very rarely eat cheap candy/chocolates now. Can't stand the burn anymore.
Same deal with most potato chips. Used to love them, now I just don't eat them unless they're a "delicacy" like the sea salt and vinegar chips.

And neither of those has anything to do with taste or allergy (I'm allergic to nothing for all practical purposes).

Oh! That's funny. Sorry I didn't get it, I was thinking too much in terms of it being related to what you'd said just before.

I'm not big into seafood, its the texture more than anything I think... it just doesn't feel like proper meat. Don't get me wrong, I like salmon and walleye, an real fish fish, even tuna... but crab and calamari and the weird kinds of things that live in the sea don't go down right.

I can't do boiled okra because of texture, even though I love it fried. Tastewise it's great, but boiled it just feels like phlegm.
Where did you get boiled orka? isn't that wale? and aren't wales protected from fishing and such?... anyways... sounds like something I must try!

I make no claim that I've tried it, but I feel that even if I won the lottery, I'd not be able to feel happy about paying more than about £100 for a meal, as once you pass about £30-50 per head, the quality increase per pound scales very badly.

Same goes for caviar, $1000 bottles of wine, whisky, brandy etc, truffles, saffron and the like.

Sure there's a huge difference between a budget steakhouse steak for £5 and a well crafted £30 fillet steak, well prepared and presented, but once you've got to a professionally prepared and cook fillet steak, paying another hundred to get a celeb chef to make it, or to have it in gold coated surroundings isn't going to make it much better.

It's like while I prefer Pizza Hut to frozen budget pizza, the difference between £20 and £2 is worth it, when I have the money, in terms of quality, convenience, etc, but I'm sure I could find somewhere charging £100 and it wouldn't feel 5 times better.

I guess in short, I wouldn't eat food that's expensive purely for the sake of showing off how much money you have. If I had a few million, sure I'd eat out more, but I doubt I'd pay more than a hundred per head, I'd just be more generous with tips.

I don't eat any baby animal (such as lamb) because I feel it's inhumane. I also don't eat factory meat (As in I only eat free range stuff) for the same reason.

Although I may end up going vegatarian again like when I was young. XD Also I don't eat black pudding because what it's made of, in my mind, is so very off-putting. I like white pudding though. :p

I try and avoid eating overly unhealthy foods as much as possible. Candy, fried chicken, or other fast food. That isn't to say I never eat it, but I'll usually go for other alternatives if they're available.

That cracked me up. Okra is a lettuce-y type leaf, used often in Chinese cooking I think, which is, I agree snottish when (over) boiled.

I love the flavor of peaches but hate the texture of them. Which is usually the reason why I avoid most foods I won't eat.

I hate any seafood. Otherwise I'll try it(except for human flesh...).

I don't understand people like the OP; Is not eating whatever it is because it was treated badly saving it from anything? If you don't eat it, someone else will. I really am curious.
