Someone actually liked Blacksite?
Well it was Okay...not a great game by any stretch of the Imagination other than being a Call of Duty clone. The plot of the campaign though was reletively alright, and the developer certainly had balls for doing a hot subject matter at the time.

Having said that though, most of the game's failings were down to Executive Meddling. The game was unfortunately rushed out by Midway. When one of the Developers spoke out about why the game flopped, he was fired. Disproportionate Retribution much?

I'd have to say Half-Life 2. It's just gold.
Definitely this, I mean the gameplay wasn't the best and a lot of parts were gimmicky. But a story in an FPS has never been better.

Oh wait, Bioshock 1!...hmmm

Hmmm, I'd have to go for HALO: C.E. or CoD 4: M.W. 1.

Wait, does Fallout 3/N.V. count? As some people think those are closer to FPS than RPG, If so then it has to be them.

I'd have to say either Killzone or Cod4.
I really liked the cod4 story (especially the Chernobyl section!) i just wish it took me longer than 4 fuckin hours to finish. i mean im all for quality over quantity, but as someone who doesnt enjoy online multiplayer, i cant justify paying for a game ill be finished with in an afternoon

I want to say Deus Ex simply because it's a classic and I love how open-ended it is in its gameplay, but I really enjoyed Metroid Prime and think that's one of the best Metroids out there. So I'll have to go with Metroid.

Mirror's Edge if that counts. Mainly because the game isn't 20 hours long, 15 hours of which are filler. I loved you Far Cry 2 but, f**k, you could have not forced so many samey side missions.

COD 4's campaign was pretty damn good. Though my vote would go for either of the Rainbow Six Vegas games
Wait, seriously?
I mean, I love Vegas 2, but I still don't know what the story is and I must have finished it at least five times. For me it's just one of the greatest tactical shooters, and co-op titles, ever. But most of the story is told through little screens in the corner, and I'm usually busy shooting people.
Although Raven Shield was even more tactical. Persistent health, and you build your squads at the start. If someone dies, you have people to replace them, but you don't get that person back. Was mean...
OT: Anyway, I'd have to say... Half Life 2.
Yes I love the game. No I'm not a fanboy.
Nominees were Bioshock, COD4, Deus Ex and Crysis (what? It wasn't great, but it was cool).
I haven't finished MW2, so I can't really say much about that one.

Half-Life (I still prefer the original to HL2 and episodes, just) if we consider that Deus Ex isn't really an FPS. Otherwise Deus Ex by miles. Bioshock, COD4 and AVP2 get honourable mentions. Mirror's Edge and Portal (again not 100% FPS) are right up there too.

If these all count (as FPS) top 3 are:

Deus Ex
Half Life
Mirror's Edge

I'd have to say Deus Ex.

Although that was before a lot of gamers times, it seems.

Failing that, I'd say the half Lifes, followed by Bioshock. COD4 is a runner up, it was quite the thriller. MW 2 went the Michael Bay route, so, screw that, and Halo doesn't deserve a place. CE had the barest bones of a plot, 2 was filled with holes, and 3 tried to do too much.
ODST, however, was great, for a Halo game.

Either Metroid Prime or Half-Life 2, they're the most interesting I've played so far. Both go way past my expectations.

Easily Halo: CE, that last mission with the warthog escape from the pillar of autumn after you figure out what Halo is... perfection

Halo 1 was ugly as hell; the first level was rough blue squares for walls and sky and rough green squares for the ground.

The original Ghost Recon for PS2 for the co-op sessions with my brother, and Resistance 2 for the weapons, and those three other Sentinels you work with (Capelli, Warner, and Hawthorne).
