May I ask why you are spamming the living hell out of this thread? You've made like 20 posts and all of them have been rude, ignorant and closed-minded. People say games they like and you immaturely shoot them down.Steviespartan said:Actually, great games like this are what make it an industry. To say you should only play the classics is to say war should be fought with sticks and stones because they were the first weapons. Industry evolves, in every medium. Just learn to accept the new and improved games of today. Not Zelda, cuz Link's gay.
You thought the puzzles were hard?Steviespartan said:God of War is not that great a game. My brother is obsessed with it but I don't like it. The puzzles are so god damn hard to figure out without a walkthrough, and it's not worth the time.Stoic raptor said:I have never played zelda.
I think everyone should try God of War.
I did not know that they tried to raise the price to 90$. That would suck. And if you don't have XBox Live or PSN, you're right, it's worthless. If you do, it is one of the richest and most consistently entertaining multiplayer games I've ever played. I do not know why you do not recognize that. And the only reason I'm so crazy and spammy o n the forum is that 1. I hate Zelda 2. That is what I've seen on every other forum I've visited (not Escapist) and so I'm used to that and 3. I'm easily provoked. I never once said I hated old games, just that I find is bizarre that no one talks about any modern ones with the exception of zelda. But I hate Zelda.ElTigreSantiago said:And that is precisely what is destroying gaming.Steviespartan said:The hell do you mean? The single player is short, but no one buys it for single-player! I didn't say a single word about old games, all of the ones I listed were from this generation, and something makes me doubt you would have the attention span or mental capacity to play through them. You're coming off as a twelve year old.
And no, Call of Duty is not what makes gaming "an industry". Call of Duty is just a massive money making scheme. Are you aware they tried to rise the price of games from $60 to $90? So many people bought such an average game simply due to hype, it set record sales just from preorders. A shorter single player means lazy developers. And by saying "Nobody buys it for the single player!", you're simply allowing them to become even lazier, until games are reduced to 15 minute long entertainment that we have to pay $200 for. But something tells me you'll be perfectly satisfied with that.
Pretty much. The fighting works but most players find like ONE combo and use it again forever. The puzzles weren't hard once you understood them, but it shouldn't take as many as fifteen deaths, in my opinion.Stoic raptor said:You thought the puzzles were hard?Steviespartan said:God of War is not that great a game. Well, I am obsessed with the game too. Was the puzzles the only part you didnt like?

Yeah, it was good stuff. Tongue in cheek, indeed. The sexuality in the first game was there but it wasn't as prevalent as the second game. Have you played Banjo Tooie over? There are so many innuendos in that game, I'm surprised a group of parents didn't rise up in righteous anger. Now I know why my dad was laughing so much as I played.
I do have to say going back and playing some of the older games I can't help but scratch my head and wonder how in the world I beat it when I was younger.
Shame Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts isn't as funny.FanofDeath said:Yeah, it was good stuff. Tongue in cheek, indeed. Children persevere well, I suppose. Either that or kids are just freakishly intuitive, which I refuse to believe.
...but from commentary, aswell as firsthand experience in the previous instalments of the series, aswell as having a friend whom owns it.Steviespartan said:Know what I think? You're retarded or scared or gay or something, because you cannot judge a game from youtube footage. PLAY THE FUCKING GAME then judge it, and even if you don't like it, and the game is "horrible", how come it's sold more than any other game in recent years? How come almost everyone likes it? It's cliched, I know, but its a great game.
if you knew the series like I do from 01 on the PC, having cleared all the single-player components of the whole series and spent many hours in MP aswell, then you'd know that MW2 is a PoS, a symbol of all that is WRONG with the industry. popular =/= good.
besides, i've seen plenty of vids of MP on the tube (so?) and many of them know and state that the MP is still broken, and i can see it conceptually, as it appears to be better subtitled "laptop warfare" or "dual antique shotguns"
back to the topic, and positive words:
I'd recommend a lot of people play TIE fighter, myself, a great game of a genre that was once vibrant, but nowadays is really not well-played/no AAA titles in it in the foreseeable future..
also, BF2, also known as the real man's CoD4, which is the man-child's MW2, which as is the Antichrist of gaming.
