I'd like to see WW2 games in general go away. There hasn't been a good one since CoD2, when it was still fairly fresh.

Marvel vs Capcom 3. Do I need to say more? Everyone knows MvC2 is one of the best games ever made, so you know MvC3 would be a big seller.

Sword of mana needs a full swing revival just like metroid got on metroid prime. A bit of a change here with allot of unaltered formulas. Last time i saw sword of mana was on the GBA...

Well, I'm a first time poster and I don't actually have a 360 (shock and horror) because my friends think that PS3s are better, so I saved my money and we got one, I will explain the whole thing in a new thread. (Maybe)

Oops, off topic, yeah, i think that the Halo series shouldn't have done halo wars and halo ODST etc. but not killed it at 3, but have Halo 4 that ends in a huge finale of explosions and gunfire with Master Chief's face being shown as the final shot, so basically absolute catering to the fanboys.

Also, Nintendo, it isn't a game but its games are trying to make people think gaming is for real people. Gaming is for the people that are not fit for exposure to humanity.
EDIT: By the way the gist of that is that all "family friendly" nintendo games should die in a fire, nintendo can live on, just not as a platform for happy gaming

Dammit I am good at getting off topic aren't I? But as a list:

Halo (after halo 4)
Final fantasy (Before they run out of numerals)
Mario
-ANY- WWII game (except ones that actually are original, like a time-travelling soldier who wants to fight in every war, but there aren't any aliens. At all.) (Wait that isn't entirely original, I might have stolen that from the fantasies of a CoD fanboy)
Sonic

P.S. If I sound like an idiot, then sorry, I ramble alot. Also What the #@$% does ODST stand for?

Every single Nintendo franchise. Seriously how many times can you save the princess/destroy metroids/defeat Gannon. Nintendo c'mon, just c'mon! You're f'ing Nintendo! I vote put them all in a room and release poison gas. When they're all dead, burn they're corpses into ashes. After the funeral go to a board meeting and think up something new!

James Pond needs a remake. That game was awwwwsome! I can't wait for the reboot of Beyond Good and Evil too, the only platformer I like.

Also, Need for Speed needs to crawl into a hole and die a slow and painful death.

Even though many would call this game a fail, i would like to see a re-working of Drakengard for the ps2. The story was fairly original with pact beasts and what not, but what killed the original was repetitiveness. Another would include shadow of colossus.
What needs to die?
Not-so final fantasy
Pokemon(they have no where else to go!!)
and sonic just to name a few...

It would be nice if some series would end so that their developers could start working on new and original ideas, but no franchise needs to 'die'. There's no point in it. If the developer wants to make the game and there's enough demand for it, then they should go ahead and make the game. Just because a few of us don't like a franchise doesn't mean that it needs to end.

To the haters out there: like it or not, Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Halo, etc sell. In fact, they sell very well. Just because you don't like the games doesn't mean everyone else doesn't like them either. Here's a hard pill to swallow, developers make games for money. I know it's hard for you to wrap your mind around it, but some of these games that you despise actually make a ton of money for the developers. They aren't going to let something like that go, it's just common sense.

It just amazes me that people on internet forums think they know better than the developers and the millions of people buying games in these successful franchises.
This...Devs make games for money, and as long as the repetitive adventures of sonic/mario/master chief/link are making money, those devs will make more games of the same nature.

The Tales series needs to croak, Namco sucks now, along with Zelda, Sonic, Halo, etc.
I wouldn't say FF just yet because Dissidia looks fucking sweet. Oh, Soul Calibur needs to die too.
I'd like to see a new Chrono game, a new Eternal Darkness, and Duke Nukem Forever! >=(

We Know they make a ton of money, but sometimes when a series gets repetetive and/or unoriginal, or any multitude of reasons actually, we dont want there to be more just because there are a bunch of fanboys jumping on it, take mario for example, it has so many bastardized (can I say that?) offspring from it, that no-one really cares anymore and people just get fed up, but it's a classic and it has aqquired so many fanboys over the years that nintendo don't want to give it up because it is like a constant IV of money being injected into them and they don't want to come down off the high even though there are millions of drooling fanboys that would keep them afloat for a thousand lifetimes.

We know people like them and we know that they probably won't cancel it just because someone said so, but that doesnt stop us from giving our opinion.

P.S.Dont think of this as angry or a rant, even though it sort of is a rant, imagine me being mainly calm with a hint of frustration, that's more the tone I was going for.

P.P.S. By the way, i saw Spencer's post from Ceyriot, and i expanded his point

Final Fantasy, World War II (in it's current state) and Sonic are all pretty much givens, but here's my slightly more controversial opinions...

Half Life - if it dies, everyone will shut up about Episode 3.
EVERY Nintendo Franchise - Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon. It was funny for a while, but started getting sad around the time Mario got his doctorate and spawned an evil clone. Shove 'em all in a rocket and send 'em to the heart of the sun - it's the only way to be sure.

What should come back...

Speedball
Syndicate
Streets of Rage

Most good old games started with "S"...

Call of Duty 2 is the best of the series. Modern Warfare is eventually going to be overdone too, possibly soon. I will stick with Rainbow Six, they let you change firing modes. Modern Warfare lacks Bolt Action Rifles and lost its appeal to me from that.
Few franchises should go away though, since though soem complain about their repetitiveness, they need only not buy them. Why should those who LIKE it suffer? People say that about Dynasty Warriors, but even if I was the only person playing them, if they are still made as long as I still play, I will.
Sonic is one of the few that may deserve death though, since it's continuation is hurting the fans dearly.

I can't think of any real games series i want dead atm, although i would like to see a new dungeon keeper, and ESPECIALLY a new One Must Fall would be great (2d robot fighting game, pure epicness) not counting OMF:bg which is just a steaming pile of horse ****, but in it's full 2D glory :D
