i just want to see more games that don't try to be ridiculously over the top in terms in grittiness, which is why I love Resistance 2 so much :^)

World War II FPS. Can't have enough of those.
No, no Deafinately not there have been too many! I mena I like a good FPS but come on there has been like how many games that have been based in WWII. I cant stand them! Yes i used to play them the games like medal of honor and call of duty 1-3 but then they make COD 4 and that was a great game then what do these idiots do after making something that worked and succeded as a game?

They got back to Fucking World War 2 AGAIN!!! and it's just a different guy, slightly differnet story of Americas moment of victory with you having to shoot repeatedly respawning bad guys until you and only you move up to where they spawned from only to find a wall! You could be just a private in the story but everyone seems to rely on you to move up or to do this or that even tho you have higher ranked soilders with you that should be leading your squad against the enemy...

If you like them then fine, but I personally have had just about enough of them!
Dude...It was a joke.

Check your sarcasm meter.
Lol I guess I went a little overboard :p

Sweet as man I just have had enough of them and im sure most people have. You could have put something up showing that you were sarcastic...

We all good? :)

MechWarrior 5 that plays like MechWarrior, not MechAssault. Full sim type gameplay, locational damage effects, variable load outs, etc. And I want to play as the Clans damn it, its been a long, long time since MW2. Though I'd settle for Heavy Gear 2.

Also, more Real Time Tactical games like Ground Control and World in Conflict as well as Turn Based Tactical games like Jagged Alliance and X-Com.

Additionally, FPS games that get out of the current rut of WWII, Vietnam, near future fighting Russians & Muslims and Space Marines in SPACE! There are loads of other possibilities and the genre is getting stale to me.

Yea i think that would be cool! Would there be like strategy puzzles to where 1 person has to solve it while the other players protect him. This would be alot different to most games where when your going to try to do one of these puzzles the game stops and the baddies freeze and you cant be attacked or anyrthing like that.

Also would the players be able to set up traps to either like kill or stun the gaurds to make the path to the objective easier?
You've got some good ideas here. There should definitely be some kind of traps you can set up, even if it's just a tripwire that alerts you guards are coming. I think in some missions you would be able to take out guards but other times you would have to go completely unnoticed and therefore not cause any casualties. And the puzzle thing is brilliant, you have an incentive to do it as quickly as possible while the others have to watch your back.

How about changing clothes? Maybe one of you could put on a guard's uniform and work the inside or maybe you could pretend to be a civilian and create a distraction.

Thanks, This idea is really coming together! :)

If you did do that with the changing of the clothes thing it would have to be in the totally unnoticed levels because you would have to stun and tie up an enemy, then take his clothes. I also like the idea of the civilian distraction. I think that would add another very different element to the game that could change the way players see each level and adds heavily to the strategy! :)

What different classes would there be in the game? Because to have a successful team you would have to have a group of characters that would bounce off each other well and could co-operate together in order for it to work well. We would have to bring in factors like; Safe cracking, Traps, Stealth, Combat and stuff like that which could be put into a rating system of say 1 to 5 and then they make up for weaker stats by having special abilities or something like that that each different character has.

What do you think? :p

I want more turn based strategy like Age of Wonders 2, disciples 2, and civ. Srsly, this genre is barely done anymore because fps is so much more straight forward to make money. No one ever takes risks anymore either, the industry is getting very boring very quickly.

For stats we could have something like:
Skills - Things like safecracking. Not sure what else would come under this category but higher skill levels would allow you to access more secure areas.
Combat - A higher combat level increases the range of weapons you can use and improves hand to hand combat.
Disguise - How easy it is for you to be noticed by enemies. Higher levels also allow you to use more elaborate disguises effectively.
Technology - Simply what traps and gadgets you have access to.

You could customise your character's stats so you could specialise in one thing or be good all round. Obviously to do well you would want a team that has all the abilities between them. There are 4 different stats so it would work well with a team of 4. I imagine you would also be able to build up your character slightly but you should not be able to max out everything because that would ruin the teamwork.

The other possibility is you simply have a few different classes to choose from, one who specialises in each field.

FPSRPGS
thats what they say bioshock is
TBH FPSRPGs are some of the best games around. The original Deus Ex was fantastic because it awarded exploration and clever thinking with points that could be used to help exploration and clever thinking. It worked because Exp Points were given on completion of missions and side-quests, some of which would affect parts of the story later on. So you could choose to run in there and blast everything or sneak past them and set the turrets on them, with snazzy options at times like activating poison gas.

Not to mention that the multiplayer was fantastic simply because mines set on the inside of a door would explode whenever someone opened it, along with many other cool options.

Fallout 3 was good, and was in many respects the same, but the only way you could advance would be to shoot and kill everything in sight. Besides the stealth was awful. Its only purpose was so that you could manually aim for a sniper shot or pick pockets. It was OK, but stealth gameplay shouldn't really be about virtual dice rolling.

I think it would be better if you had set classes to choose from but have say more than 4. That way you could have different combinations of characters depending on what you have to do in the mission to get to the objective.

But the stats that you have set up would be cool to use and possibly more if any come to mind. Although, the characters would have to be balanced to a degree because if it wasn't, it would turn into everyone using 1 or 2 classes all the time and the other classes being... Well not wasted but less used shall we say. :p

I think with the upgrading section, it should be more to do with special abilities than actual stats. Because this would mean players with different abilities could help each other out and it would add to the logetivity of the game; getting players to kind of rank up and get those special abilities so that they can be the 'Master of all Thieves' :)

RTSes that aren't FPS adaptations (God Halo Wars sucked), although Half-Life 2 Wars (a mod) plays decently and doesn't have Halo Wars Syndrome and that's not the Valve fanboy in me speaking because I thought it would suck too. Another thing is an RTS that does things DIFFERENTLY, not just some company recycling Starcraft or Command and Conquer.

And is it just me or has everyone been trying this "squad based units" thing ever since Dawn of War? It worked... but it only worked when it was in Dawn of War. Oh and Homeworld 2 I suppose, but that doesn't exactly count since both games are by the same people.

You know what, I want another space RTS, an RTS that's completely in space. Where's Homeworld 3 when you need it? Sins of a Solar Empire kept me fueled for when Relic takes the finger out of their ass and announces Homeworld 3 though. I guess, Making Homeworld 3 would be a bit like making the sequels to Halo, the ending for Homeworld 2 did not call for a sequel at all, neither did Halo's.

More J-RPGs that are actually good. I need one to satisfy my boredom...none of my games feel like I can play them any more...I need something new.

Personally i would like to see more Massive Online Battle games. Like heaps of people on a big expansive battleground. I think that they're cool! :)
MAG

tactical espionage action A.K.A metal gear style
Yeah MAG should be awesome, apparently 256 mutiplayer

On topic; Like to see a few more RPGs that go down the Fable route, bit more laid back and don't take them selves too seriously. Apart from the final boss ofcourse

Not plugging it, as no longer play, but you just summed up EVE-Online.

GOOD HORROR ala condemned. that game made me shit my pants.
oh and a nice intuitive hack and slash would be nice. I was really a fan of Lord of the rings: return of the king because it kept everything simple and intuitive. this crossed with a game with a great combat system like ninja gaiden would be awesome. but maybe try to work in some original story there as well. some character development would be nice, hack n slash seem to lack alot of depth usually
