What game has the most anti-climactic or downright terrible ending? *SPOILERS!!!!!*

Also, one of the endings to Jade Empire is pretty lame. The sort of 'middle' ending, where instead of killing the final boss and freeing everyone, or killing the final boss and enslaving everyone, you just sort of surrender, and don't fight anyone. Game ends. Lame.

but they make a gold statue that looks just like you... okay, yeah, that sounded so much cooler in my head. Yeah, totally anticlimactic and lame ending.

What really got me on this one was how stark the two endings really where. Really, your final decision is the only moral choice that has any bearing on the ending, and the rest of the game is just moot.

But seriously. The games, I love so much, and as far as the story lines for both go, its wonderful. It's just the endings. Of the Gears series. I mean honestly...they ended the EXACT same way. One...everyone was blown up with a light mass bomb. The second, everyone was drowned. Both ended with the Locust Queen talking and a "Cliff" hanger. (Bad pun) although nothing was wrong with either of their plots, but the endings. Have to be changed by the third.

I mean, I know the focus of LBP isn't the story at all, but I laughed so hard at how horrible the ending was

The s.t.a.l.k.e.r. shadow of Chernobyl ending kinda sucked. I didn't know who certian things affected which ending you go, and had to end up watching the other ones of youtube. Only like 1 or 2 of the possible endings were ok i guess...

The ending of the original 'Syndicate' was a bit of a let down. You get exactly the same 'Welcome to the Dawning of a new Empire!' screen that you get at the end of every successful mission - then it goes black and white, a message appears that "Congeratulations! You are now the best Syndicate!"

And then the credits roll. That's it. I guess back then games were not really 'supposed' to have great endings, but it did still feel like a massive let down. That game got pretty hard in places, I at least expected a different bloody cutscene.

This was years ago and it STILL HURTS *sob!*

I loved every part of this game... except the final boss.

WTF! The point of bragging rights on Insaine dificultly was how ungodly hard RAMM was! But this piss easy rail shooter where all you do is hold down one button for 30 seconds is not a boss fight... That doesn't even qualify as a minigame!

It made me sad... but yay for improved multiplayer

Yeah, and skorge vs RAAM? RAAM! Skorge was a crappy boss fight, even if he had been very low ranked it would have sucked, but that sucked so much. Button mashing, a couple boosted ticckers and a dodge or two? Thats lame, so so lame compared to RAAM. But then again, the corpser fight in GOW 1 sucked a bucnh as well.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It goes through all this work and then the last mask does the final boss fight for you.

Neverwinter Nights 2 and Fallout 3 are still the worst, although Fable 2 is certainly a contender. "Here's the magical artifact powerful enough to rebuild the entire world, light up another sun or two and give you any flavor of ice cream you'd care to name. What is your wish? You have these three very limited and mutually exclusive choices!"
I WANTED to shout "How about ALL of them, you traitorous *****?" and then shove my my sword through her skull - she wouldn't see that coming
But nooo, such things aren't allowed in the land of do-as-you-please. Luckily, I bought my copy used and Gamestop gave me more in trade-in than I had paid for it. So at least it had something good to offer.

Anyway my vote goes to Prince of Persia (spoilers following)... you basically undo everything you did in the game. Except it's one step worse because now Elika's father is dead. Absolutely ridiculous ending. It'd be like the Prince unleashing the sands again after reversing time in Sand of Time.

I thought it was a genius ending, a great plot to carry it on, hence why there is going to be a trilogy, they're also making an Epilogue DLC for Xbox 360.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. the end boss was amazing but the ending was really disappointing. it tried to be all philosophical and moral but failed and turned into a bad ending. the only good part is at the end where Tatl says 'Link...thank you'. the music after is good. not the song the Indi Go-Gos (or whatever the Zora band is called) do but the tune before and after it. so, yeah, LoZ:MM; great final boss, bad ending.
