well i decided to make this topic because i'm sure that about 90% of gamers play a game that, whenever mentioned, gets a reply of "wtfs that?" or "never heard of that"

oh and sorry about the shitty topic title, i couldnt think of a good one to put :p

well anyway. mine would have to be rogue galaxy for the PS2, because i personally dont know anyone who's heard of it except for one of my friends.

Brigadine (PSX), still can't get enough of that game!

Also I enjoy playing Dark Kingdom (PS3), especially multi-player, but everyone I mention it to hasn't a clue.

Although it has already been said, I want to die riding a thermonuclear missile onto a base owned by [Insert evil organization here].

My last words?

"Wahahauh, wahuh-huhh!

Older titles usually get a "Huh?" from my friends, even though most of them were fairly popular when they were new. Other games are just far too geeky for the average gamer. Constantly I am asked, "What the heck are you playing!?" and I get lots of rolled eyes.

Forgotten Gems:
Quest for Glory series
Ultima series
King's Quest series
Monkey Island series

Too Nerdy To Handle:
Galactic Civilizations II
X3: Reunion
Evochron
Homeworld
Sins of a Solar Empire

Just some off-the-top examples. There maybe some crossover between groups as well.

What the? I forgot that game existed but oh my, did I enjoy that?!? Kudos to you sir for reminding me.

I spend a lot of time telling my friends about the wonderful Snatcher as none of them seem to have heard of it. Sorry if i sound like a broken record but thats the only game i play that people have never heard of.

I haven't played it since I was like 6 years old, and I have never met a single person who has heard of it.

Ragnarok Online. I mean, my friend has heard of it, but likes Lineage 2 more, even if he had played RO for a long time. It was opposite in my case - I like both games too, but only RO has a place in my heart.

Aaaand Beyond Good and Evil. I liked it (and bought for full price of $50 - not really, but it was pretty high in Poland anyway, over 130 PLN) before everyone begun to pity its weak sales.

the Gothic trilogy.

None of my friends have heard of it. It may be buggy as hell, the combat might be like trying to steer a tanker full of concrete and the main character might not have a name.
But its a pretty neat RPG with a decent storyline and some decent characters.

Much of the stuff every at least slightly geeky Gamer knows about (the Oddworld Games, Zeno Clash, The Path, Shadow of the Colossus, Defense Grid...) but is unknown to most casual or mainstream gamer.

Abe's Odyssey and Shadow of the Colossus were brilliant games. Bought Abe's Odyssey and Exodus the other day off Steam

Aw, man, my fucking base! We kept cookies there...=(

Welcome to the escapist, good sir.

My friends have never heard of Parasite Eve or Heart of Darkness. Yet, they call themeselves gamers.
