I disagree, but them again it's the ONLY Mortal Kombat game I've ever enjoyed. Any games that lets you BE the Joker pawns. & it has the best cutscenes I've ever seen in a game.
The only Mortal Kombat I've ever enjoyed was Triology(sp) had alot of characters and was somewhat fun.
But merging with another franchise was pretty much copying Capcom and their GREAT fighting games and Marvel with their GREAT comic characters.
I'd have prefured an MK style Marvel vs DC, & having the old MK arcade theme song tossed back in. I remember hearing it in the skating rink.

Star Wars games based on the movies. Seriously, enough already, there's six movies and like forty games.

No one has mentioned the Wii Sports/Play/Music/Fit series, which is quite surprising, though they aren't my pick.

For at least some series, you can argue that an overhaul is needed more than an execution. Longrunning series that have made efforts in the past to mix things up (e.g. Need for Speed, Call of Duty) can be defended by arguing that an overhaul is better than the guillotine. But if a series is story-based (like Halo or Gears of War), it should continue for only as long as the story continues. Otherwise, you're just pandering to the fans.

But if I had to axe a franchise, it might be Gran Turismo, for its sheer denial of the fact that there is a popular, accessible racing sim out there (Forza Motorsport) that has better game design. Maybe GT5 can change my mind, but it's too early to tell.
I kinda mentioned the Wii xxx titles.
Wii sex?! o_O

Either that was sarcasm or you can't solve this:

x = 10-1

What is x?

All sports video games in the world, except extreme sports, like Skate (and Skate 2), and the Tony Hawk's series, plus some old BMX games.

All the FIFAs, Maddens etc are just so...boring.
Why do people buy them? WHY?!

Also, I would like to say Final Fantasy, but the last game being Final Fantasy IV for the DS for me from the Final Fantasy series (and it is a pretty good game) I would not like to kill it.
Maybe just hit it in the buttocks with a huge boot a few times, but not kill.

I can't actually think of any. All sequels have a place somewhere, and someone will enjoy them. I've enjoyed the latest Tomb Raider, Burnout, Gran Turismo, Pro Evo, Fifa, Sonic and Halo. Even direct sequels to Zelda and Mario are still welcome, but what I do hate is the spin off series (with the exception of Melee, Brawl, and the Mario Kart games. All others can go suck lollypops in hell).

Final Fantasy. Since when has this series ever been good? Also we're approaching #XIII. Jesus christ! I seriously hope I'm not alive when Final Fantasy MMMDCXLII comes out. Also, if there is a Final Fantasy MMMDCXLII, then that means Square-Enix either has way too many developers or their developers are practically immortal and bored as shit to make that many fucking games.
MMMDCXLII, thats 3642 right? thats not important though. i can say i really hate final fantasy though, and if they keep making them, then at leat give them a subtitle or something. but the one series i hate so much that i wish i had a time machine so i could kill it over and over, and then all its ancestors, is the star fox series. its got everything i hate: rail shooting, annoying helpers, completely unrealistic and unlikeable characters, and badly written stories with the depth of a puddle (read: hollywood summer action blockbuster).

That wasn't really a question you know. It was an information.

Let's stop this now.

I wanna pump Final Fantasy full of Napalm.
I wanna bathe Halo in a bathtub filled with rusty barbed wire and salt.

because DCU is a crap provider of superheroes.
I really don't like them, a super hero that is basically invincible and only green crap can kill him? Bleh.
Dear sir, you're going to have to step outside!

I don't really believe in killing a series, but I do believe in killing it painfully and then let it be reborn through its ashes. One of the top contenders for that is the NFS series. It's not so much that I don't want to play another NFS game, quite the opposite, I just don't want it to be the same game it was four titles ago and be a sucky one at that. Let the series die and have another shot at it some three years later with a good idea of what the hell you're doing on that drawing board.
