What game series would you bring back from the dead?

I must know what happens next! Joanna Dark is just too good a protagonist to let hang like this. I would settle for more books (Initial Vector and Second Front were most excellent), as long as they are written by Greg Rucka.

Jedi Knight series, for the gameplay. Would fund a studio to continue along that kind of gameplay, only updating it and hopefully bringing a better story to the table.
The last good game in that series was... Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Having know actually played Jedi Outcast I can actually safely say that. Sure I've only played the first 2 levels of Jedi Outcast, but still... The fact is that Jedi Knight had full motion cinematics with real actors, something you don't see much these days anymore; which is strange 'cause you'd think it'd be cheaper than all that 3D animation. However in Jedi Outcast you just had cutscenes with shitty looking blocky talking heads. And Jedi Academy, well I'm not going to get into that.

Incidentally, I know I say this every time a thread like this comes up, but it seems many of you aren't familiar with the concept of "all good things must come to an end." I mean I know it sucks to have to let go, but think about this, how many franchises have gone down the shitter because someone behind the scenes just had to push out one more entry, one more sequel/episode/whatevver? Esp. when said franchise was already bordering on the realm of absurdity?

Resident Evil (4 & 5 are properly titled as 'Gears of Evil', or 'Resident of War', or sometimes 'Shinsangoku Evil' - English title 'Dynasty Resident')

<---- ELITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we could have System Shock 3 without making SHODAN too laughable a villain. It has been over a decade, after all.
I just finished System Shock, and now I'm playing System Shock 2 (they're both fantastic), and I support your idea. SHODAN's megalomaniacal personality could come off as hilarious if done wrong, but as long as the writers kept their heads in the right place, I'm sure the story would be fine. I could only hope that they'd bring back the REAL RPG elements (inventory screen/bonuses that are actually useful/somewhat balanced character building/etc.), unlike what Bioshock ended up with.
Also, Monolith's Blood series could use a reboot.
Aaaaaaah yes, Blood. What could we do without our dear undead cowboy friend??

I have to copy pasta a list of games that for some unholy reason didnt even make it out of the second or even the first game even if they are quite awesome on their own.

Stretch Panic

Thunder Force IV
Phatologic
Turgor
Dungeon Keeper

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo for the Playstation 2
Frozen Synapse
Splatterhouse series (for some unholy reason the 2010 version bombed so i am not even sure why we want a remake or a revival if people arent going to play the stuff that they wanted)
Blood
Hexen
Heretic
Rise of The Triad
Legacy of Kain series (since no one talk about this and not even recognizes this series as the cause of excelent voice acting since the Playstation era then i must assume that its fucking obscure)
The Pirates of Dark Water for the Sega Genesis
Extreme Pinball
EarthWorm Jim
Radix Beyond the Void
Vynyl Goddess from Mars
Scott Pilgram Vs The World - The Game
Xmen Clone Wars
Radiant Silvergun

One of the greatest DOS FPSs that wasn't made by id Software. It was gruesome, it didn't take itself too seriously, and it had a macabre sense of humour that holds up well. But most importantly, it was just plain fun. The ability to kick a zombie's dismembered head like a football is a feature that no other game to date has used. There was a sequel in 1999, but it just didn't capture the same charm. Given the state of the FPS genre today, I'd say that a blood transfusion would be just what the pathologist ordered.

Little Big Adventure...

The first was good, the second was awesome! The characters were good fun, and the mechanics worked great at the time! Imagine a game nowadays with the magic ball as a weapon! Trick shotting it off of corners to hit an enemy before he sees you! And having the different stances with the different throw profiles... Unfortunately I cannot see how it would work as a 3rd today, they would either have to redefine it, or it would seem very very dated...!

True Crime, what can I say, I loved the second game and we were tantalizingly close to getting a third when it got cancelled.
And Star Wars: Battlefront on consoles. No more of these PSP games, I want to run and gun for fun under the Tatooine sun on my console.

THIS GAME NEEDS A SEQUEL! I mean seriously, it's an amazing under rated game that should have gotten more love. Probably the lack of voice acting and minimal advertising kept this off alot of radars.

Legacy of Kain: It needs a FRAKING ENDING!!
Loaded: Humorous, over the top obscure characters, insane amount of gore and action. I miss the days when games weren't always so grey and serious
Aaaaand Fable: Trust me! The series is dead...it just hasn't realised itt(What a TWIST) and yes I can say with confidence I could do a much better job.

Spyro the Dragon (the original three, before the switching companies and the reboots and all that)
System Shock
Soul Blazer series (Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma)

Terranigma in particular is a game I always wanted a sequel to. Or at least a remake...

Brutal. Freaking. Legend

I loved this game immensely and I would be overjoyed to see a sequel.

It's too bad EA shit all over the license...
