TES IV Oblivion. Must be close to 1000 hours I've spent on it
Just a question, but how did you manage to spend over 100 hours on that game? These so little to do in it, and for all the hard work you put into a character, none of it is shown due to the npc level system.
If you explore all the caves and stuff you'd usually just walk by it's longer. Try exploring and different combat styles and put the diffuculty level. Don't just do specific quests take a wander around Cyrodil. Also the NPC level up in my opinion makes it a lot fairer. Otherwise you'd get to a certain level and it wouldn't be difficult. It's my favourite game of all time.

I liked the "idea" of the NPC level up, but not the execution of it. It should have only made enemies harder then a set level. Instead it also made enemies a lot easier then they should have been if you ran into them earlier then you should have. I wandered into an Oblivion Gate at a ridiculously low level and still easily laid waste to the creatures there. Also it should not have affected the loot like it did. If I kill a really tough enemy, why do I get crap equipment just because I'm not a high level? Shenanigans!

I remember playing Rings Of Power on the Megadrive with my sister for about 2 years and we barely got halfway through. That game was ridiculous.
In my teens they Metal Gear Series.
And now Fallout 3/The Sims 3.

Hmm.

Red Alert 2, just over 150 hours.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has clocked about 160 hours.

Mass Effect has clocked about 240 hours.

Oblivion, about 250 hours.

GuildWars, over 4,200 hours (3500 of those over 2 years, and the rest over another 2 years).

Fallout 3, just under 900 hours, possibly more due to unsaved characters or alternate ones.

Final Fantasy, the series a s awhole really. And whilst I don't play it every day, I'm still playing some of them, so that's what... eight years? yikes.

Oblivion for 100 hours. I thought that was ages, until I read some of the other replies here!

Definetly both Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls:Oblivion are tied for the prestegious deed to my social life. With over a 100 hours clocked up in both games, i'm currently comtemplating sacrificing a human virgin in a dark unspeakable ritual which man has long forgotten... just to find out the release dates of any sequels. Any takers?

Have to be two online games - I've always been a butterfly, flitting from game to game when it comes to single-player, but online...

Discworld MUD, from about '97 through to '01, had over a year online-time on one character.

World of Warcraft. Last night I checked, and I had 62 days played time across all characters (Fu-Played ftw ;))

I've heard Bethesda has a new Fallout game in the works. Can't wait.
