the one where your the only compitent solider on the battlefield and you have to do all the work
hahaha xD so trueShotgunSmoke said:Oh, and don't forget the obligatory sidekicks - an afroamerican, who wears his pants around his knees and feels like he has to break the world record for the most swearwords in a videogame, a geek, who can fix almost everything with a paperclip, but doesn't know which end of the gun fires bullets and a skank, who barely has any clothes on.
Never played PM64 or Thousand Year Door, but SPM's dialogue was unneccesary, irritating and made a weird clicky noise that grated on the ear.AzId said:Wasn't the dialogue for Paper Mario 64 pretty good? I remember getting a few good laughs from some of the conversations (although unfortunately nothing springs to mind right now). I don't know how the series turned out from there, but it started well.
Like Duke Nukem!!!!Dangernick42 said:Oh I thought of another one: That the protagonist has to have some important reason to be saving the world/killing aliens/trying to survive, and although it fills out the plot a little, it doesn't really add anything to the game. Can't they just be killing aliens because they enjoy it?
i really don't think there was a need to look up the word stereotypeshophius said:I do infact know the meaning of the word stereotype.Kukul said:I can see you don't know the meaning of the word "stereotype", which makes this thread very confusing at first.
an unvarying form or pattern; specif., a fixed or conventional notion or conception, as of a person, group, idea, etc., held by a number of people, and allowing for no individuality, critical judgment, etc.
Do you know the meaning of the word? Obviously not. You're just picking fault in nothing.

but nonetheless, i hate that adventure games always seem to put in a fucking underwater level. no one seems to like fucking swimming in games so why keep doing it?

Hmm...hadn't thought about it like that...that is an excellent pointAnachronism said:I'd disagree with this. I don't think JRPGs should even be considered RPGs, because the player has no effect on how the story turns out, how their character develops, or, well, anything. In an RPG, you should control your character's development. In a JRPG, you watch your character's development.Smurfy 0151 said:That all FPS's are the same...drives me nuts...the same with all RPG's and JRPG's which really should just be one category
Actually Duke Nukem goes out on an alien killing spree because they steal "his" women.trombone2007 said:Like Duke Nukem!!!!Dangernick42 said:Oh I thought of another one: That the protagonist has to have some important reason to be saving the world/killing aliens/trying to survive, and although it fills out the plot a little, it doesn't really add anything to the game. The only reason why they don't do this, is because people will be way to piss off that they work that hard to beat the game and bam, they lose at the end no matter what. Also What I hate is when you have a cool mask side kick, they die at times. Why do all the people in mask have to die? I would prefer some of the people with their faces showing dieing instead of the mask people..but I guess that what happens...Portal Maniac said:I have yet to see a game that has EVER broken the cliche of "You win! You beat the guys opposing you!" To put it simpler, I haven't found a game that makes the main player fail.
.......If you still don't get it, a game where Master Chief gets killed by Truth and the Rings fire. A game where the Enclave defeat the Brotherhood of Steel. A game where Lucien actually kills the nameless Hero.
Yes, but how do they know if not a single game has done this. Look at Fallout 3.Outcast107 said:The only reason why they don't do this, is because people will be way to piss off that they work that hard to beat the game and bam, they lose at the end no matter what.Portal Maniac said:I have yet to see a game that has EVER broken the cliche of "You win! Note to self..never wear a mask when going to battle.
lol they should have RPG wars every year. basically each develloper releases their RPG and JRPG and only one of each gets picked for release... Keep the shite off the store shelves, and get an online community that plays the same game would be cool. larger more populated servers are fun. lolSmurfy 0151 said:That all FPS's are the same...drives me nuts...the same with all RPG's and JRPG's which really should just be one category
