I'd like the tactical semi-turn based control of the original Jagged Aliance games, in a nWoD Hunter universe setting. That would be badass. Either that or Werewolf 2E games done with a Jagged Alliance style map and turn based system.
I really loved the original JA 2 feel. Create your own CIA avatar any way you want, exert control over a territory, etc. I feel as though the same mechanics and style would be suited to a HUnter or Werewolf style of setting. Manage the herd, claim first changers more efficiently to grow the pack, secretly fund Shadow-influencing flesh side structures, stay on 'good' terms with benign spirits, while hunting down transgressors ... dual world mechanic.
I would dig it.
I could also see a similar thing with Hunter. Creating safehouses, making contacts, building armories, growing your influence that various hunters in your cell get recruited by Tier 2 and 3 organizations, build up your economic base, reign in supernatural threats trying to kill members of your cell. I mean, that Hunter idea could have a self-balancing mechanic ... various members might be abducted/turned against their own without your knowledge. So when various missions come up against some 400 year old vampire, you 're betrayed and suddenly want seemed like a doable hunt with a team of hunters with all the right gear and teamwork strategies, suddenly becomes a massacre.
Whole lot of potential.
But that semi-turnbased territory control type of game that was perfectly combined into a single product that was Jagged Alliance 2 hasn't really been repeated ... and it's a shame. So much stuff you could do with a game like that.
Hell ... I'd fork out the money for a HD remastered JA:2 with expanded territory addons and more merc options as long as they kept all the same type of feel. BiA is a good game but only when you look at it as its own product. IT is but a shadow to the glory that was JA:2. Creating a dual pistol wielding CIA operative with a bajillion action points by the mid game was a joy to experience. Why, oh why, they removed the create-a-character in BiA I will never know.
