When a francise I like has been RUINED.
But that I can deal with, it is only when that has happened, and someone says that the thing that ruined it is what makes it good that I rage.
Fuck you Escapist review for giving Dragon Age II 5 stars, seriously, WHAT THE HELL?

Other fans, particularly the ones who take things too seriously and too far.

Theres nothing worse than finding a series you like and wholely enjoy it, while finding somebody else who also enjoys it too. But then a month or a few weeks down the line it becomes the only thing in said persons life, then your just under constant bombardment by it week in/week out and you just eventually lose all enthusiasm for the whole thing.

That kind of thing gives me "fan-rage".

Yeah, the real reason you don't like it is because you're a triple whiny fan :p

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. I love Call of Duty, but bloody hell that was an absolute train wreck. Not only do we get IWNet AGAIN, the multiplayer is unbalanced, the maps are sub-par and the campaign was just boring! Bleh. Roll on Black ops 2, sweep that one under the rug.
It's about time IW understood that the series they created is in much better hands with Treyarch. CoD 4 really was their one hit wonder.

The one that's really striking me at the moment is something that happened yesterday.

I come from a Royal Air Force family and have lived on air bases for as long as I can remember. This coupled with my nerd tendencies means it was pretty inevitable that I'd get really into planes.

Now, there was an air show where I live this weekend, and while I was walking round I heard this kid, must have been about 14 or 15, say to his mate "Look, it's a Spitfire!". I turn round... to see him pointing at a Cessna light aircraft.

The rage. You just... you cannot imagine the rage. It was all I could do not to smack him them and there.

Let's just make a few things clear you little shit. A Spitfire is a work of art and possibly the finest piece of engineering for its time that this country has ever produced, not to mention it spearheaded the effort to save this country when the Nazi's were at our doorstep. A Cessna is a toaster with some sticks on the front, wearing wellies. You do not, I repeat, you do not confuse the two! It's heresy, that's what it is!

I'm legitimately surprised that no one has mentioned the Star Wars prequels. They're recent enough compared to everything else here, but maybe it gets too much attention and everyone's sick of it.

When you compare 'A New Hope' to 'The Phantom Menace' there are just too many things missing from the prequel to truly say (imo) the prequels are worthy successors to the trilogy. I haven't re watched Ep.II+III so I can't comment on those, but I understand how disappointing TPM must have been for fanboys who saw it opening night.

Fallout 3.

And no, I don't want to talk about it, ok?
When I attempt to summarise it its like experiencing the rage all over again.

I'm sick of bitching about it and I'm sure you're all sick of hearing me ***** about it so lets just leave it at that shall we?

I try to ignore the existence of League of Legends' community, because I'd probably have gone insane/had a rage induced aneurysm if I actually tried talking to the majority of people that play that game.

*Guy chooses in Ezreal when we need a jungler and we already have a carry/support*
"Hey, could you get a jungler, we don't need another ranged AD"
"Fuck you, I can play the game how I want to" "Why don't you just let him pick what he wants? Stop taking the game so seriously"
*Locks Ezreal*
*Game loads - he's clearly wanting to play Ezreal because he's just bought the uber expensive Pulsefire skin*
*Ezreal steals all of my last hits solo top because we have no jungler*
*We get destroyed in a few team fights, Ezreal and Vayne (the people telling me to not take the game seriously to a point where we choose a terrible team) opt to surrender, I refuse*
"OMG why don't you surrender, we don't have any tanks"
"I thought it didn't matter as long as you could play your shitty skin"
"I wasn't looking at what you said at the beginning"
"Whut? You replied to it and said you'd play what you want, now you want to surrender because you played what you wanted to, and you're not letting me enjoy the game."
"Fuck off, report this flaming noob"
*Goes afk*

But...but...surely you know that all these haters saw the endings on YouTube and that somehow validates their reasons for hating on us, the people who actually played and loved the games, right?

There may have been a tiny little bit of sarcasm in that last paragrapgh...

I get the rage when people draw / create images or write stories about characters from games and films, doing things that they'd never do. Yes I am talking about porn / erotica.

I am very much NOT a prude, sometimes I can be downright twisted, but when I see (plucking any old example out the air) pictures of Liara being fucked up the bum by Wrex while licking out Samara (as far as I know, no such image exists...thankfully!), I tend to get a little snarky! Even poses which would normally grace a porn-mag make me cross!

When it comes to characters like this (especially Liara!), nudity is fine but it has to be tasteful and relevant! She's not a prude either but neither is she a porn-model / actress! The same goes for pretty much every character in the franchise - even Jack, who isn't what you'd shy and virtuous! While I am on the subject, why dress certain characters like they are about to go for a swim? Diana Allers looks like she's on her way to a latex / rubber fetishist's club and Miranda, as lovely as her bottom is, looks like she owns it!

And don't get me started on those bloody bishoujo statues of Liara...I was scaring the Incredible Hulk when I first saw those!

There's nothing wrong with fantasy and I myself have drawn erotica featuring Liara but it was tasteful and always backed up with at least a paragraph so, in my mind at least, it's not just tasteless, mindless smut.

well i cant admit to fanboy rage, but i can admit to fangurl rage...in one line

DMC REBOOT

how the frell does someone who's father is a demon and who's mother was a human, have an 'angel side' so he can get white hair in a special move, (possably to placate us fans of the original)on which twisted reality does that make sence? o.0

reboots i can deal with, so long as they at least keep the characters consistant. its like rebooting superman and making him a black dude (yet another thing hollywood burns my bacon with...changing characters for the *cooler* by just using a black actor....your premis is flawed because just swaping charlton heston for will smith does NOT make Omega man better >.>)

I don't think I ever finished a silent hill game but I am pretty sure they have some renown for having at least one "insane" ending in their multiple endings.(The "UFO" endings and the infamous "Dog was the mastermind" ending)
Though I have to admit, playing a game the first time and getting emotionally invested and somehow getting the joke ending that ruins the tone completely must be rather irritating.

OT:The new Jak game, final/last frontier. I only had to play a few minutes before I left it to my younger brother and neither of us(die hard Jak fans) had much of a good time. But that wasn't fanboy rage as fanboy disappointment.

But I do tend to go through disappointment rather than rage because then I won't have to deal with snotty types thinking I am some sort of obsessive nerd.

Funny, I came here to post about Glasslands since I'm reading it right now.

I hate Karen Traviss so. Turning Halsey into an in-universe devil was bad enough, but she made people talk about Ackerson as if he was a likable guy. What really got me was the Brutes and the Elites actually working together in the Elite insurrection. Hahahahahaha, what? The worst part is, there are two more books to go. Karen Traviss isn't stupid, she just would rather make a point than provide a good story.

She actually does elaborate on the "helping Elite insurrection" since it's to stall for time so the UNSC to become its original size when first contact was made and therefore be the one making the demands when the time for negotiation comes. It's not perfect, actually it's terrible, but it is something.

Ackerson? Isn't he the person that tried to KILL Chief to make himself look good and Halsey bad? You know, wipe out one of mankind's best hopes? And did Traviss forget that Ackerson had his own SPARTAN project? DId she forge about the SPARTAN IIIs? They were literally sent to die in hundreds on their very first mission, Halsey trained her SPARTANs to live and SHE'S THE BAD GUY!?

And yeah that explanation is still pretty terrible, why don't they just give guns to the Brutes while they're at it?

When people talk about the book of revelation as if it actually mentioned the word "Antichrist." It doesn't not once. As a former Bible fanboy, I get ragey.

Hmm. What I have a beef with, in a fandom I like.

I'd have to say Metal Gear Rising. It looked like it was going to be awesome; now, it's just a generic hack-and-slash piggybacking on some of the best games ever made. Portable Ops has a similar place in my mind, because its plot falls very flat in comparison to, say, MGS3, or even Peace Walker. (Also, the "recruiting" mechanic feels like it makes both PSP games too comical. Yay, let's drag random dudes into our truck!)

I just outright refuse to acknowledge some parts of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, mainly post Episode VI stuff.

The Empire lost. The Rebels won. They rebuilt the Republic. Yuuzhan Vong, Palpatine clones, collapse of the New Republic? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
