I believe that there is an afterlife of eternity depeding on how you lived your life but not a christian/muslim/jewish/buddhist type, just a general place to go, whether it be a cloudy wonderland or a simple cottage on a countryside filled with other people who went there.

I would like to believe that we go to a place that we WANT to go, I'd love to live in a cloudy wonderland with tons of rain and filled with other friendly souls who have ascended up there with me.

something. I know that something happens, I'm not sure what it is, and I'm not all that interested in it until it happens

I believe we are born again, either as a Human or an animal. We might not even be reborn on Earth, but another planet in the Universe as a member of a completely different species.

But I really don't know. I'm not religious, so that belief isn't forced upon me.
Yeah thats pretty much what I believe, something cannot be turned into nothing.

Unless your conscience remains, with your memories, I really don't give a shit because if it doesn't nothing will matter because I won't know = (

It's the greatest of unknowns and the one question that everyone eventually answers for him or herself. I've actually been reading Dante's Commedia and he has a tremendous amount to say about this very subject. It's well worth reading.

Personally, I believe in God, and in God as the source of values that we will be held accountable for. Our minds are incapable of comprehending the afterlife, so I won't be surprised if we don't see "streets of gold" or "pits of fire," but I believe our actions and attitudes determine whether we'll be united or separated from God.

I hope you don't mind if I pray for you.

Well either you respawn (live another live with no memory of the previous.. sort of where really awesome Deja Vús come from), you get to the afterlife (whatever that is, I happen to be Christian so I guess I'll end up in hell for everything I've written on the Internet) or you just die.. All black.. No more fun.. You get eaten by maggots..
no, god has a special version of hell for people who say bad things on the internet, it's called 4chan
It's been a while since I've laughed so hard on a reply : )

Congrats on your suspension!

Your conscience would cease to exist. Think of it as falling asleep and never waking up. You are unaware of the time during which you were sleeping until you wake up and make note of it. Except you never will wake up. In a sense, you will simply cease to exist. It's impossible to comprehend how death "feels," for there will be no you to "feel" death.

Lol. Why is this a thread? No one has ever died and (lived to tell the tale?). Basically, no one who is alive has told us what being dead is like, and none of us have ever died, so NONE OF US COULD POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT BEING DEAD IS LIKE.

Your light goes off and never turns on.

Your consciousness does not go anywhere.

So if your life is shit, don't use the excuse that you still have a whole other life after you die if you pander to the invisible man in the sky.

Your judged by our creator, a loving father and all around good guy. If you lived a good life, you get rewarded with eternal happiness and bless.

Unless your Black, Jewish, Muslim, Asian, or pretty much anything but a white christian. Unless your the latter, you rot in an eternal pit of hellish pain.

Well... and kittens... if your a kitten you also get into heaven.

Lol, all joking aside. I believe there's nothing. As depressing as it is, I think it's game over, lights out, for all you know you never even existed.

ON THE POSITIVE and actually somewhat realistic side, there is a chance there are an infinite amount of other universes. If this is the case then there's an infinite amount of me's and you's. Every possible path our lives could have taken also exist. If there are an infinite amount of universes, then somewhere out there I'm a talking marshmallow taking a crap on you while playing dragon age 9.

YOU ARE DEAD

Continue? Yes/No
[previous scene]

After travelling all day and night you finally make it to the Orcs camp. They are numerous, far more then you expected. As you crouch behind a shrub surveying your situation you spot what you have come for! Through the flap of a tent in the corner, it is a mere 10 yards away! Do you chose to sneak in to the tent when the orcs are not looking or do you choose to wait for a better opportunity tomorrow?
