Seriously, this again? Will people just give the fuck up on this, please.

The only reason anyone could think Bioware was in trouble is because they either incessantly pick apart every single small mistake or differing opinion they can find, or they have such a pathological hatred of EA that they've convinced themselves the company is a swirling vortex of evil that corrupts everything in a hundred mile radius.

Bioware isn't perfect but they still make awesome games, EA is pretty stupid but they still on occasion publish some pretty cool stuff. That's pretty much where it ends.
This is probably what I meant to say, but I got a warning for the way I said it.

I agree with you and am therefore quoting your post.

I'dunno. I'm sure they'll think of something, they could always do Jade Empire 2 if they wanted to win back some fan cred, it has the added bonus of being a setting we don't ordinarily see in RPGs.

I guess there's Dragon Age 3, we'll have to see how that turns out.

I'm not sure I care as much about Bioware now, not just for Mass Effect 3, but because they seem to be heading in a different direction now, and it's a direction that I don't have much interest in.
-I found Mass Effect 2 to be disappointing, even though it was still a pretty damn good game, just not as much as the first one.
-Dragon Age 2 was terribly terribly rushed and the game definitely suffered for it, but I still liked it, but again, not as much as the first one.
-Mass Effect 3 was even more disappointing than the second one, and not just because of the ending, I have a few other gripes with the game beyond that, and it too seems like it was rushed to a certain extent.

I just get the feeling that they don't put the same craftsmanship or time into their games as they used to, maybe I'm wrong but this is what it seems like to me. And I just don't like their newer stuff as much as their old stuff, after Dragon Age: Origins is where they started to slip up, in my opinion.

They'll make new games, and people, no matter how shit people thought the ending for ME3 was, will still buy their stuff. Otherwise, Call of Duty would've died years ago, and everyone would have told the Sims to fuck off around the time the fifth expansion pack for the second game series came out. So if all those are still kicking around disgustingly well, making a fuck tonne of money, there is no reason to think Bioware will ever go down.

Mass Effect 3 was one of the best games I've ever played; I don't think BioWare are going anywhere soon. Especially since they promise to make DA3 more open-world.

Maybe EA will give them Ultima and they can put a bunch of memes in it.

I love how despite all the bashing, their games are still 10x better than 90% of the shovelware out there. But keep on hatin.

I may be one of the few people on here that still enjoys SWTOR albeit i took a break and came back for the Legacy patch.

Its still a fun game to play with friends and i'd say if you wanna play an MMO Swtor gives you the most bang for your buck. I just started up an Imperial Agent and am addicted to it again.

However you wanna look at it SWTOR isnt failing, it has the highest subs other than WoW and they are adding in content pretty regularly.

Besides EA has already made their money back on it.

I can completely see where you're coming from, but saying such things means little if you're playing Mass Effect on a profile that isn't linked to your account.

Mass Effect isn't finished, Shepard is, but a lot happened before Shepard that they can play with to some degree.

Plus they can always come up with new ideas.
I totally agree. Also the Rachni Wars, being a Justicar, the First Contact war... there's a lot of possible games left in the series, just with things directly described in the three games.

When I think about how much I like Bioware I tend to look back and dream 'didn't they have such fantastic stories before, with consequence and reaction and chioce?'. The answer is pretty much no. Not ever. They have always written 100% railroaded plots with you making barely a few meaningful changes. The plot typically splits about once in a game and ends up with a fairly similar conclusion. They write great characters which keeps me coming back, but frankly Obsidian shit all over them for all the other RPG elements.

I'm holding out hope ($115 worth) that Wasteland 2 brings back broad open choice with long lasting effects. Bioware from their past history will not deliver this.

The ME brand has likely got one or two games already in development. They've stated already that it doesn't stop at ME3 and that is only the end to Shepard's story. I 'think' they are looking at some prequels but I'm not sure.

The DA brand has DA3 announced and they did a bit of info at the recent PAX about it - not a lot, but just that they were fixing some of the bad RPG choices they made in DA2.

TOR for me did neither the storytelling well nor the MMO elements well. It failed both. I don't think it's fixable because they have put themselves in a corner where everything must be voice acted, they need to write for 8 classes with ~6 (I think) companions. Incidentally, the companions are flat and boring. The PVP sucks. I think as a concept it is great - to have an MMO with storytelling that you can just keep adding too - but I don't think they can afford it, their plans were just too grand.

Name some awesome games that Bioware's come out with recently, please. As for EA, I can't think of anything of theirs I've liked in quite a while, but I also don't keep track of everything they put out... what are some of your favorite EA-published games that have come out over the last year or two?

I'm thinking... Mass Effect: Origins? I'd pay for that. Playing either as a Drell Soldier (I'm sure there's at least one out there) or a Krogan Infiltrator. Oh yes, I'd break the game with that.

I would like Bioware to have a go at making an open-world RPG. Preferably featuring pirates and ship battles and travel to exotic islands with curses and treasure and other pirate-themed fantasy shit.

Make it happen Bioware! Make it sexy too!

After the Mass Effect series and DA:O, they have nothing left to offer me. Like hell I'm gonna bother getting any of their past or future titles.

Oh god. really? Star Wars was an amazing MMO, ok they gave ME3 a shit ending, but you seriously want to see a developer die off because of EA? i mean thats just stupid. Baldurs gate, and a lot of other things to offer.
