I have learned...

That in many ways we have far more control over our lives than we realize, and even knowing this it's often hard for people to capture and harness their own potential.

You don't know how much something means to you until it's taken away.

Things are often put off, assuming there will be another time. And before you know it so much time has come and gone.

We, as a species, are capable of so much more. We waste our resources and time with things that in the big picture mean very little or nothing.

That one's greatest personal strengths can be just as big of a weakness.

How insignificant, yet amazing, each of us is.

We are too quick to forget aspects of the past which should not be forgotten.

And we take a great many things for granted..

Your dreams get crushed. You find all your faults too late. That feeling that there is something wrong and you can't correct it won't ever go away. And its still pretty fun, even when life sucks.

To never get my hopes up, I'll almost certainly end up disappointed.

No one does things for the pure goodness in their hearts, there's always some ulterior motive.

Very little is worth working for in the long run.

No matter what the hell you think, you are insane and have a very bad anger problem and should be medicated immediately, even though your psychologist screams at you while you sit in his office, your brother tries to kill you weekly and no one gives a shit or notices, and your 50 year old mother has reverted back to her childhood and now spends her time twittering about trying to convince everyone that she's in her teens.

Nice to meet ya, Soldier.

Life's not fair, end of story. ***** and moan all you want, but it still won't be fair.

Never plan more than two years in advance. Life is fluid and unpredictable, like gasoline.

Your faults can be channeled into helpful abilities at times.

Everyone needs someone to talk to. If you just sit and listen, the part of a person who's starved for affection comes roaring out.

Live is complicated. Some spend it killing, some spend it sending others to do so, some try to live a dream, and some waist time on the web posting in forums like this.
