Milk. If the situation is dire, warm milk.

Classical music. It needs to be suitably epic.

Or, in a last resort, I listen to this:

After fifteen minutes of that song, I zonk out automatically.

Melatonin [http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/tc/melatonin-overview] is my herbal sleep remedy of choice. It doesn't carry as much side effects as a sleeping pill does.

I tried playing STALKER last night, but that didn't help, I got to a really creepy part and couldn't sleep.

I tend to sit and do homework until I'm tired and can sleep.

Thats pretty bad for you if you do it to much. Just a word of warning.

OT: I pretend that I get the crap beaten out of me.

Seriously. It works. And it is disturbingly rejuvinating.

Don't do the three period thing. It makes me feel small :(

I was just being "that guy".
but it's sort of my thing, you know...
when ever I finish something and start a new idea I have to use the... thing...

Melatonin pill, and in thirty minutes I feel like i need to go to sleep and i pass out. No side effect aside from becoming drowsy, and naturally occurring and created by your body. It doesn't seem to be habit forming either. It helps put me to sleep, but it doesn't keep you asleep. I awoke once after taking a pill with my mind racing at ten different ideas, which confused me, and I felt so tired, so in need to pass out, that it pained me. It wasn't deterring me from sleeping, nor do i think it woke me. I have felt that way when I stay up for two days and the third day is arising. The eye strain and physical need to sleep felt something like pain.

I generally have to have some background noise, and I've found a fan works well for that. Even in the middle of winter I usually have a fan on in my room, and these are actual winters with -10 degree Fahrenheit temperatures. Vodka also helps.

A full body work out late at night. Seems to be the only thing that gets me to sleep properly nowadays. I find it difficult to sleep.
