I probably wouldn't suck at any of the gritty sand-colored FPS games these days if I could play as Ezio Auditore. Who needs a gun when your opponent won't even see you coming.

I think he'd handle it quite well. Better than Daniel did, although that's part of the reason the game is so freaking good... Still, it'd be fun to tear those goddamned monsters a new one with a plasma cutter... Or at least be able to effectively throw something at them.
Master Chief in MW2 would also be extremely entertaining. Tactical Knife/Commando douches wouldn't stand a chance.

Dante in Mass Effect 2; who wouldn't want to follow him? Plus, he'd get ALL the women. Ryu Hayabusa in God of War wouldn't be that different gameplay wise, but it would be interesting to see how certain bosses react to exploding kunai. Isaac or Matthew in Kingdom Hearts.
And all of the above in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. (I know Isaac was in Brawl as an assist trophy, but I mean as a playable character.)
