KOTOR II, back in 2004 when it came out for the holidays I got it because it was number 1 on Gamestop's Top 5 Xbox games at the time, I had no clue that it would be my favorite game of all time.

World in conflict, which was and in my opinion still the freshest, newest look at RTS for a long time. Stalker(1) as I'd seen the crazy graphics in a demo on some other game and it chugged out my old computer till it hemmeraged and crashed. Why I thought that made a good selling point after an extensive upgrade I'll never know. I liked it though, bugs and all.

Most recently Endwar, cause I saw it in the shop when I was getting HAWX... it was just a Tom Clancy kinda day. While the graphics are nice, controls ok, the camera was on Rohypnol/ketamene cocktail, and the gameplay was all too basic to hold much challenge. I played it about 10 hours and never really went back to it since.

I was at the Reject Shop and saw they were selling some old DOS/95 games for 50 cents. Being a retrogamer, I jumped onto them (even though the screenshots and blurbs were terrible).
Hi-Octane and Darklight Conflict are my two new DOS favourites. (Next to Doom, that will always be on top)

It was really weird because my friend is always telling me to buy a ton of games that he plays for a day and then stops, so naturaly i always argue with him and say i dont wanna buy it buy he suggested l4d i looked at a few screenshots then i bought it on steam 2 minutes later. Awesome game.

Dynasty Warriors 2 and Timesplitters.

I'd just bought my PS2 and fancied blowing my spare cash on some games, they both seemed pretty good from the box art, and I wasn't disapointed.

I still love those games, especially Dynasty Warriors... even more than 10 games later.

Bioshock. I picked it out for Xmas just because i heard it was a great game. i actually was worried that it was kind of a kiddie game from the box art. then i played it for 2 minutes, haha.

Psychonauts [http://www.psychonauts.com/]. What a fabulous surprise that was.

Meandering in an electronics mall in the city I live I stumbled on one shop's bargain card box (no joke, not even a bin). And there is was. The cover was just too great to pass and the price was almost "for free". I got it and placed it on my waiting to be played enormous list.
I knew of games like Grim Fandango and other similar masterpieces, but I did not remember the name Tim Schafer.

Then a few days later I discovered this web site and the Zero Punctuation feature, were the game was lauded.
And I agreed with all there said.
