What is the best game you have bought that you knew nothing about

A bit off topic: I actualy didn't like Prototype that much. And no it's not because I'm some violence-hating pussy, it's just that the story made me wanna die. + Alex Mercer = / = Cool ..hole space.. Alex Mercers Powers = Cool
On topic: Team Fortress 2

Violence hating pussy? Mate, by the time you finish the game, you've murdered half of Manhattan and eaten half of that. Alex kills just about everything he meets.

OT: Final Fantasy 10. I'd never even heard of FF before then and it turned out to be my favourite game of all time.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Never played a Metal Gear game up until that point, but I'd heard good things about it. Took it home and enjoyed it immensely.

And the character himself doesn't really seem to be the kinda person that would do all that stuff.. It's just the player to me.
