The reason I didn't like it is because in the first one when you hit an enemy they went into a 'being hit' animation and when that was running you couldn't hit them again. The same thing happened when enemies hit you. In number 2 you could continuously hit an enemy and force them down, which took a lot of the fun out of it because they couldn't retaliate and it seemed clunky rather than the smooth battles the first one had. It made the game pretty awful to playTheMatt said:Secret of mana 2... sucked.... I was sad.

I'm sure a large part of my adoration comes from the fact that those were my first, but I've gone back and player them since I was ten, and the still hold up quite well, with or without their next-gen remakes.
Otherwise, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, and the Diablo series.
But really, Earthbound, Earthbound, Earthbound. Come on, Mother 3 language patch![/quote
Haha, I agree. The old SNES rpgs were great fun to play (and still are, good old emulation). Earthbound was so underappreciated, and I loved every bit of it except for the last boss, that was just strange. Maybe someone has translated mother three on an emulator rom? I wouldn't have put it past someone
Chrono trigger had one of the best weapons seen in an RPG, the rainbow sword. 70% chance of getting a critical hit? I'll take that!OrangeAvenger said:Chrono Trigger.
Any game with a sword wielding frog that is LESS Emo than the guy who turned him into a frog has burning courage!
That weapon was bloody epic.Inverse Skies said:Chrono trigger had one of the best weapons seen in an RPG, the rainbow sword. 70% chance of getting a critical hit? I'll take that!OrangeAvenger said:Chrono Trigger.
