TES III: Morrowind takes the cake, no questions asked.
TES IV: Oblivion (not as good as Morrowind)
Knights of the Old Republic (first one; second one was awesome but not as awesome, I thought)
RuneScape, before Jagex went the route of trying to take total control over the game. Go ahead, sue me for having loved it.
Oh, by all means its still a magnificent and unique game, its just Id recommend to anyone about to play it for the first time to be prepared for the fact that its not the most "comfortable".RebelRising said:RebelRising said:I've heard nothing but good things about Planescape: Torment.Bugger.Xaositect said:Planescape: Torment could have been a really close call, but unfortunatly for that game, its story wasnt as strongly supported by its gameplay, and it also had some terrible bugs. People tend to overlook those things, but I dont, and only ever place it above BG II when it comes to game storylines only.
Anyways, Baldur's Gate sounds cool too.

I would definitely say its worth it though, make no mistake. Its just judging by its average sales when it was realeased nearly a decade ago, it wasnt entirely a game for everyone.
I should probably clarify in that what I said above was actually about Planescape: Torment. At the end of the day really, both are shining examples of how awesome the infinity engine games were, and Id definitely say if youre going to try one, it wont hurt to give the others a go.shockandawe95 said:sorry folks but ive never played bulder gate someone send my some stuff about it and ill see if lli really like itXaositect said:Oh, by all means its still a magnificent and unique game, its just Id recommend to anyone about to play it for the first time to be prepared for the fact that its not the most "comfortable".

BG2 was definitely one of the best tactically -- some of the boss fights were quite thrilling, and had a decent story to boot. (It was also a very cliched story but, hey, it's Forgotten Realms...)Xaositect said:Baldurs Gate II
