Everybody that says Oblivion needs to check out Morrowind and it's two expansions.

I've played both and I still prefer Oblivion. Morrowind is just to hard to get used to, and leveling up is tedious. But I still like it, it's got an unique atmosphere.

Besides Oblivion, I'd say Diablo 2 is the second best RPG I've ever played. It's fast-paced when it needs to be, it gets hard around boss-fights, and the mood is just right.

Morrowind, without a doubt. It can be frustrating at times but the world is vast and it's quite immersive. Pants-on-head retarded AI aside I'd have a hard time thinking of criticisms.

If Final Fantasy Tactics Advance counts, put it down for me as well.

As for more "Western" RPGs, KOTOR, Mass Effect, Fable 1/2. I'm enjoying Fallout 3 so far too.

I'd have to go with either Final Fantasy VIII or Mass Effect. I'm in the middle of Fallout 3 right now, I thought it was less than impressive to begin with but it's growing on me.

Toss up between Baldur's Gate 2 and Torment. Mass Effect is a strong contender, mostly for it's utterly spectacular finale.

I think overall, due to it's size and the ability to continue the same character between the two games, Baldur's Gate has to take it.

Honestly, thats a damn hard question to answer, the best RPG... Well let me say this, I hated Morrowind, because I played Oblivion first and could not get by the graphics or the no quick travel to cities. The best would have to be Tales of Symphonia, followed by KOTOR, and then by Mass Effect. Fallout 3 would be there and it probably will once the ending gets changed.

Oblivion. I can't hack turn-based or complicated battle systems so I liked Oblivion's simple "run up to, hit, block, repeat" thing. I also liked the ability to turn down the difficulty to the point where dying was near-impossible. I'm a fan of easy games, especially when they're huge.

Kingdoms Hearts 1&2 (2 is better in my opinion)
All Final Fantasies, although i'd say X is probably my favourite.

I'm gonna have to say something extremely dumb, here...um...probably the Lord of the Rings Diablo clones on the GBA. I've derived more enjoyment out of those than any non-Intelligent
Systems game. Two Towers was my first GBA game.

As for Intelligent Systems games, All of the Fire Emblems, and the first Paper Mario. I played through that game about twenty times, I kid you not. Hey, I was still in Grade School.
