The knife in Counter Strike, only 1 hit kill if u get them from behind.

The scout in Counter Strike, unless you get a head shot then they survive and you probably won't get a second shot. Similarly the sniper in Gears of War 2, in Gears 1 it was a bit overpowered downing someone in one shot.

Torque bow in Gears of War 1 and 2, takes a lot of skill to use especially if you use the arc to drop a bolt right next to someone.

Alot of shotguns in video games are incredibly underpowered and make them very difficult to use (in multiplayer), I would consider them un-nooby.
I second that.

Shock rifle in Unreal Tournament 4. I allways got amazed of those gamers that were able to kill me everythime with that gun. Maybe I was just jealous because I ran around with a flak cannon all the time.
Right click, "whoosh"
Left click, "apocolypse.

Epic weapon.

I'd agree with some posts, many people who call others "noobs" can't face the fact that they suck and just got owned. However, this doesn't apply for everything. The MP40 in COD5 is a large reason why it isn't awesome, just good. In the games I play...
Halo 3: yes, the battle rifle, known as the BR to people who should be brutally killed, and even I only am good with it sometimes.
COD 4: Dragunov sniper rifle. IT IS THE BEST GUN IN THE GAME but many people suck with it.
COD 5: I think it's pretty hard to use the Garand well, as well as the FG42.
TF2: I can't snipe for my life.

Odd jobs hat from James Bond nightfire.

range of about 5ft, 1 hit kill, only reloads if you can physically reach the hat.

awesome.

oh and the crossbow. Sure its 1 hit kill, but it has a slow reload and is alomost impossible to aim at a distance.

Yes, that game was far too underappreciated. For its time it was just great...And have you forgotten the golden gun? sure its medium range and one shot kill, but it only has one bullet so if you miss your F*cked. The bazooka was so OP, becuase you could control the rocket. I did the silo map and got an AWESOME run with the rocket where I shot someone at the top of the silo whereas I was at the bottom. I for one enjoyed the pistols for their range and rate of fire - in the hands of a skilled player they were epic. Funny thing about some old games is instead of blood when shoot people, theres just a spark or a puff of smoke where you hit them...

Oddjob was just the best character fullstop.

By Counter strike I assume you mean team fortress two?

The halo 1 pistol can 1 or 2 hit a player if used skilfully, otherwise it just fails
The Halo 1 pistol never fails. A clip of 12, and very quick firing semi-auto. 12 shots with it and you're dead, and each shot takes off about a 10th of your health. It's the melee weapons in TF2 that are un-noobish.

Well, that depends realy. Some they are powerful because of the volume of bulets, each bulet path figured individualy. Each individual bulet is weak, but there are a lot of them. Those are definently un-noob because you have to get close enough and aim well enough to hit.

CounterStrike: True skill resides in the player that can control Dust2 with a Scout.

Call of Duty 4: No spray and pray, no insta-gib, the G3 is a gentlemen's gun.

I think C4 in CoD4. You have to really know what you're doing with it, second guess your enemy, lay the trap, and then stay close enough to time your detonation right. I can never do it right that's for sure.

I like knife kills, they always feel well earned.

the M14 whilst not noob-ish is very powerful, my current favorite rifle. I feel the overly- large iron sights were put on it just to weaken it a bit. the amount of peripheral vision they knock out is insane.

So yeah, R700 is the least noob-ish rifle IMO due to the small magazine and low reload, but it is also powerful and accurate so it's useful in the right hands. I.e. Not mine!

The portal gun in Portal, you can't really kill anyone with "it" hypothetically, but you instead have to utilize it to control your environment and indirectly kill things with it.

Quake 3: Arena

Gauntlet "Humiliation" kills.

Not only does it take skill to get in range of an opponent throwing ordnance at you as fast as possible, but the announcer loudly proclaims: "HUMILIATION," leaving you satisfied and the victim in the bloody dust.

Fuck the idea of weapons being noobish. It's just something people say when they get killed by people and don't want to face the fact they got shot in the face.
Agreed. There's a counter for every cheap move in most games.

COD4 players get called noobs and cheap no matter what weapon they use.
