I don't understand how anyone thinks sniper rifles are not "noob-y." They're the lamest weapon in just about any game because they allow you to attack from far away without putting yourself in harms way. It's really easy to focus on getting a headshot when there's no one around trying to gun you in the back. Also they tend to do ridiculous amounts of damage if they're not insta kills. If anything... snipers are the "noob-y"est weapons around.

I'd agree with shotguns, or even more so melee weapons of any kind.

Also just about any weapon with an arc to its trajectory, bows and arrows or grenade launchers especially (unless the grenade launcher does tons of splash damage, than nix that).
snipers is not noob-y if they are used in the right hands. but i agree somehow. they hurt too much. u barely have to point the AWP at people in CS, while it takes 2 shots with a Scout. thus making the scout fall out of the category.

Knife takes some skill. Try beating a shotgunner type player in COD5 with nothing but a revolver, knife and 1 molotov. I felt like Kratos if he was time warped. I hate snipers. I just don't get the "skill" in sitting in a corner all day waiting for someone to walk by. It takes more skill and caution sneaking up on someone with the knife, or headshotting someone with a peashooter while they rush you. Then again, I have fucked up opinions on skill, so ignore me....

Indeed (I'm assuming you're talking about SSB). That move separates the boys from the men, since if you miss, you are left in stasis while your opponent has the opportunity to wail on you. Good players can either use it directly, or use it for the devastating triple jump.

Not really since the damn thing is semi-auto. it takes all of 1 second to put 2 shots into someone with the scout. Though CS isn't a great example since just about every weapon in the game is a 1 or 2 shot kill, and pistols have infinite range. The gun physics are all messed up in that game.

Snipers are noob weapons, people can pretend they take skill to use but they know the dark truth, snipers are for noobs or pros who just don't feel like trying.

Depends on the game, and the range of skill you're talking. Perhaps a difficult to use weapon at average level becomes useless and un-nooby when you get to pro level.

I'd have to say the R700 in CoD 4: MW - it is indeed the most accurate rifle, but it only has four bullets and takes about a second inbetween shots. Being able to hold of your position with that rifle takes quite a bit of skill.

Have you ever played CoD 4 with a sniper rifle?
I'll tell you it's not as easy as it seems. Especialy in pro servers - you make too much noise and you get instantly noticed after the first shot and have to relocate or die on the spot. Also you rarely get the chance to be far from all your opponents so snipers have to engage in a lot of close combat as well.

bolt action sniper rifles in CQB
not like in COD4 tho where it takes nearly no time to reload

revolvers too for their low rate of fire and high loading time

The Redeemer from Unreal Tournament is the least Noobish weapon. the Translocator, when used as a weapon, marks you forever as a total noob.
