SSB Brawl is just a sad sad game. Two years hype for this epic fighter to come to Australia and they got rid of all the best bits of the gameplay, tried to be positive but this is game is only good when you have friends over and it is shocking online.

C&C Tiberium Wars is probably worse since it was a down-grade from the last master piece Generals. Everything is worse in this game like the units get stuck on everything, the hero's are worthless and the super weapons are boring compared to the ones in Generals. What the hell were they thinking?

This game made me sad.. I bought it at release, and perhaps spend 10 hours on that abomination. I haven't tried it since the major update though, it may have improved. But before that.. I had to literally hack the game, and modify some texture with some dubious application to have a crosshair which I could shoot with. I like a little, for most people tiny white dot, not some flucking flamboyant piece of artwork to aim with.

Fortunately we still have UT2k4 though, amazing how that game still stays more or less active.

I felt let down by Crackdown recently, its fun and all but the fun is watered down. Its kindof like Spiderman 2, its fun to leap around and ignore the game completely but even that gets watered down.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope.. I know I should have stuck to my gut and stayed far away from JRPG territory but everyone kept telling me it was different. It WAS different, just not different enough.

Left 4 Dead, its pretty good, but even with multiplayer its nothing more then a rent.

Psychonauts, yep, i'll await someone to come by with a tree and some nails because i'm sure saying this is signing my death warrant. The gameplay was meh, but thats forgivable, the humor fell flat for me, I suppose i'm just hard to please as far as humor goes. The humor and characters were just not enough to carry the game.

Edit: For the record, I have a much longer list but I get the feeling titles like Fable 2 and PoP will get enough of a lashing.

Fable 2, end of story.
I agree wholeheartedly, Fable 2 is the worst game i have ever bought.
About midway through the story i picked up the original and played it for a while just to calm myself down.

Wow, hold on, worst game ever? It was mediocre, but worst game ever? No.

Fable 2 was just "Meh"

Deus Ex Invisible War - Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it failed as a successor to the second best game of all time.

Silent Hill 4 - Again, I liked it, but after the phenomenal SH2 and the great SH3, it kind of fell a little flat.

Its impressive that you actually beat it though, I coulnt even bring myself to finish Killzone 2. Traded it in 2 days after I got it.
Would you at least care to explain what you didn't like about it? I thought it was one of the best FPSs out last year, not that there are very good FPSs released all that often anymore.

As I've already posted, might as well share my biggest disappointments in gaming.

Fable II - I tried my best to take all the hype with a pinch of salt, but even then I was sorely disappointed, not even as good as the original.

Halo 3 - This was my fault, I was completely swept up in the hype, I'd read all the previews and perfect reviews but when it came to playing it, I found that it just wasn't all that fun.

Deus Ex: The Invisible War - Sequel to my favourite game of all time, was never going to match my expectations.

I'm aware that someone is going to mention Halo 3 because hating Halo is 'in' right now so I thought I'd say right now that Halo 3 did not dissapoint me.

One game that did however... Half Life 2

Also... welcome to the escapist. Someone has to be the one to give a warm welcome and I guess that's gotta be me. We all drew straws and I got the short one so yeah.... Welcome to the Escapist I hope you like it here.
Funny, I would put it the other way around and not just because disliking halo is "in" right now as you put it. I seriously didn't like it. Anyway, more dissapointing then that though was probably be... I really don't know, I normally like all the games I buy.

Though i'm sure theirs quite a list of games that completely disappointed me, for some reason Final Fantasy 10 storms into my mind. Maybe it was because it was all so annoyingly happy and jolly even though the inhabitants got pwned by a whale every couple of years... which also reminds me, a whale as the big boss you must kill to safe the world pissed me off considering i was used to semi interesting bad guys with overcompensating swords. Their were other things that really annoyed me but for the sake of people who might want to make the mistake and buy it I'll only say "dad, really? Memory, your shitting me?!". Oh yeah and Tidus that blond son of a *****.

Hell it was disappointing enough that i actually haven't revisited the franchise since, am i missing out on anything good?

Not really, FFVII was as good as it gets.

In my early youth, I discovered a game called 'Pac-Man'.

The person who made it must be a total, utter, absolute, Grade A pillock. - Carol Ann Duffy

Crysis. I was also a bit disappointed with Saints Row 2 PC version. Mainly because of the shitty optimization.

I have a tie, the first was spiderman 3 the movie video game. Spider man 2 was a very enjoyable game because of the great web swinging mechanic. However I remember playing spiderman 3 at a futureshop and my first thought was WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THE FUN! The second was Halo 2. I remember playing halo on my laptop, hell I still do. Yet when I picked up Halo 2 a couple years afer it came out I thought again WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED! Where did the fun go? I still havent beaten the game and I only played though Halo 3 cause a buddy played it with me on co-op.

Kane and Lynch Dead man, Mainly becuase when I was watching the game and reading about it, it really looked brilliant, The story looked like it was going to be brilliantly, The game sounded brilliant, Then I got the game and it was a big let down, I still own the game since it came out but that becuase my brother buaght it for me for christmas and I would look extremely ungreatful if I just traded it in.
