Halo 1 and 2, both completely repetative.
Call of Duty: World at War, a complete let down for me.
Spore: got caught in the Hype
Heroes of the Pacific: was cheap, now i know why! lol
What did you think of Call of Duty 4? I thought it was really compeling and had a lot of depth, but multiplayer was kind of disapointing because of frags -_-

I'm aware that someone is going to mention Halo 3 because hating Halo is 'in' right now so I thought I'd say right now that Halo 3 did not dissapoint me.

One game that did however... Half Life 2

Also... welcome to the escapist. Someone has to be the one to give a warm welcome and I guess that's gotta be me. We all drew straws and I got the short one so yeah.... Welcome to the Escapist I hope you like it here.
I enjoyed the Halo series, I truly did, but Halo 3 was dissapointing. It was overhyped, and even though I didn't believe more than half the hype, the final result was mediocre. I did like the other two, though.

Crysis was an expected disappointment.. it is an interactive benchmark-test for your PC.

Rag Doll Kung Fu... OMGOMG first non-VALVe game coming through Steam! This got to be good, it wasn't. The demo came after the release -.-

Sacred, don't get me started at that s****y diablo-clone.

GTA IV, it just didn't hold a candle to GTA Vice City or San Andreas. It had unlikable characters, a boring game world with no variety, poor humour (liberal bashing gets old fast) and a tiny amount of content on the talk shows, unlike VC and SA.
As much as I hate to see people say it, ^ this.

I never played Vice City but I played San Andreas for about 2 hours and I played number 3, and IV just doesn't stand up to the expectations they set. But it sold like a billion copies anyway
GTA4 for me too.
The sick thing was that I had pretty low expectations. I loved San Andreas but I wasn't expecting anything that big or busy. The problem was that it didn't even live up to the next gen GTA3 calibre game I was expecting. There was so much missing that it seemed more like a next gen gta clone like true crime or something like that.

Mercenaries 2. Great concept, poor execution thanks to being entirely broken, with the AI as dumb as they can get which really, really destroys the whole pleasure that you can get in playing it. oh and I'm reinstalling it at the moment, might as well enjoy those few hours before the next semester starts.

FFVII, FFX-2, FFXII, Ocarina of Time.
And Street Fighter IV, I hate those games.

That I bought, Mass Effect. I still oddly enjoyed it but it was average in every aspect and in every sense of the word. They could have done so much better with it, but it fell flat on it's face every time.

In general, there's a good reason why people hate H3 now. Even if you've completely ignored ALL of the hype, speculation, and yadda yadda associated with that game (a feat I managed to accomplish for the most part), if you've played ANY of the past Halo games EVER then H3 is a huge step backward in every way but the graphics. And its probably safe to say that all of the people who got excited about H3 had played a Halo game at some point. So I'd have to say that's my nominee for this thread, even though it's kind of a common opinion. By the way, congratulations on being one of the few people who liked H3.

*Cough* fanboy *Cough*

Empire: Total War, for me, has been the worst game I have bought in three years. Yes I bought Halo 3, it was meh, but Empire bites the soggy biscuit.

I could never get into the Fable games... with Fable 2 I spent 30 minutes being a bartender and then went back to playing WoW. 8)

Deus Ex Invisible War - Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it failed as a successor to the second best game of all time.

Silent Hill 4 - Again, I liked it, but after the phenomenal SH2 and the great SH3, it kind of fell a little flat.
If Deus Ex 1 is the second best game, which is the best?

(just wondering ;))
