I'm aware that someone is going to mention Halo 3 because hating Halo is 'in' right now so I thought I'd say right now that Halo 3 did not dissapoint me.

One game that did however... Half Life 2

Also... welcome to the escapist. Someone has to be the one to give a warm welcome and I guess that's gotta be me. We all drew straws and I got the short one so yeah.... Welcome to the Escapist I hope you like it here.
*Cough* fanboy *Cough*

Empire: Total War, for me, has been the worst game I have bought in three years. Yes I bought Halo 3, it was meh, but Empire bites the soggy biscuit.

I could never get into the Fable games... with Fable 2 I spent 30 minutes being a bartender and then went back to playing WoW. 8)
At least he has an opinion. :p
BURN!!!!
If playing games that I actually like and having fun makes me a fanboy then I'd rather be the fanboy who likes his games rather than the 'ultra cool elitist' who is playing this game just because 'the mainstream don't dig it'.
FWI: I was just saying I wasn't dissapointed by Halo 3 to get that mention out of the way and clear my concious.

Assassins Creed.
I was so exited for that game...I waited a couple of years just waiting for it to come out.
I thought it was great AT FIRST. The game got so repetitive it was very disappointing. Hopefully the next one will be 1o times better...

Starfox Assault. It felt so... empty.

EDIT: Just thought of a few more.

Halo 2 failed to offer more urban-based settings in its single player, which was what I hoping for. Also, Halo 3 didn't offer a lot of satisfaction in many levels. meanwhile, TimeSplitters Future Perfect's multiplayer was lacking compared to that of what came before it.

Recently I decided to pick up a copy of Resistance 2. Huge mistake. I dropped $60 on one of the worst games I've played in my life. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities and I cant believe that anyone would play it for any reason.

A couple months later, I decided to buy Killzone 2. I dont know how the developers did it but they managed to make this game worse than Resistance 2. The two are pretty close in abysmal quality though. These are the two most disappointing games that come to mind, but they were very recent and I'm sure there are plenty of worse games before them so lets hear them.
I didn't think they were THAT bad, not the PS3 golden gods they were supposed to be, but still fun while the single player campaigns lasted.

Mercenaries 2. Great concept, poor execution thanks to being entirely broken, with the AI as dumb as they can get which really, really destroys the whole pleasure that you can get in playing it. oh and I'm reinstalling it at the moment, might as well enjoy those few hours before the next semester starts.

Biggest disappointment? Final Fantasy X-2. Unless I am talking about how big a disappointment it was, I do not speak of it.

Well I just felt like it was unbelievably boring. There wasnt really any motivation to play the game. I noticed very little story, granted I only played 5 levels in but I cant imagine it would make any difference in this case.
It just felt more like work than playing a game, it was incredibly hard to play and control with a kind of Gears of War feel to the controls. The gunfights were also incredibly tedious and bland, I really sick of shooting identical helmets of identical soldiers over and over. The setting was also very drab and boring as everything was black. Or damn near anyways.
I just fely like it built itself up so much that it was very hard to meet the expectations I had of it, but I'd hoped it would atleast meet some.

This is in relation to Killzone 2 by the way, I dont think I mentioned that.

As for Resistance 2 much of the same goes for it. Also the biggest selling point by far for me was the co-op play and they just tore out everything that was good about it and replaced it with some truly terrible... I'm not even sure what to call it.
I was a major fan of Resistance 1 and Resistance 2 just drained all of the good qualities of its predecessor.

Kind of a wordy review there but however.

Thank you to Vrex360 for bashing whoever it is that was.
I was also very disappointed by Half Life 2. I'd heard so many great things about it so I finally went out and picked up the Orange Box only to be constantly let down by the boring, below average gameplay and relative lack of story.
I felt like it could have been amazing... back when it came out... if I was a huge PC gamer... and if nothing else had come out for a while and I was really bored.

I would really like for somebody to tell me the appeal of Half Life 2 though because I just didnt see it.

Please call me Vrex.

I honestly don't get Half Life's praise either, it's just a shooter. There isn't much to set it apart from the others. Also I hate the fanboys somewhat when they jump onto forums and tell me how wrong I am for saying that I was dissapointed by Half Life 2. I don't hate it but I don't worship it either.

Endwar (360). O. M. F. G. I even played the demo first and still bought this one! The voice commands weren't the set back for me, it was the gameplay. Idk what it was that turned me off, but I didn't realize until it was too late to return the game...

Idk, I thought HL2 was ok. But I bought it w/ the Orange Box so I got TF2 and Portal too. I guess I wouldn't get HL2 by itself but it's still worth playing at least once.
