Kane and lynch, or GTAIV. Rockstar has got the power of next gen on thier hands, the ambition looks infinite..... and they spend the power on making a more detailed than bigger city.

Deus Ex Invisible War - Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it failed as a successor to the second best game of all time.

Silent Hill 4 - Again, I liked it, but after the phenomenal SH2 and the great SH3, it kind of fell a little flat.
If Deus Ex 1 is the second best game, which is the best?

(just wondering ;))
Silent Hill 2. Completed 25 times and I still get emotionally invested every time.

I actually enjoyed Killzone 2 and Resistance. Most disappointing game? Hmm either LittleBigPlanet or GTA4

Recently I decided to pick up a copy of Resistance 2. Huge mistake. I dropped $60 on one of the worst games I've played in my life. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities and I cant believe that anyone would play it for any reason.

A couple months later, I decided to buy Killzone 2. I dont know how the developers did it but they managed to make this game worse than Resistance 2. The two are pretty close in abysmal quality though. These are the two most disappointing games that come to mind, but they were very recent and I'm sure there are plenty of worse games before them so lets hear them.
I'd disagree with you there, I'm not saying they're the best games ever, but I thought they were good.

You're entitled to your opinion.

Anyway, my most disappointing game would be Haze. It looked alright, but when I played it.....

...oh dear.

Seems like I really need to check that game out, everyone is so positive about it..

For me it would probably be Soul Calibur 4, where do i start? the graphics were only sightly improved but im pretty sure the ps2 is capable of pulling that off, the character creator had worsened, the gameplay was somewhat lacking in certain points of the game(ie special vs. mode), and onlineplay takes like 3 trys to find a "possible" spot in the server and finally, i have to say this, what the hell is going on with ivy's costume?!

Killzone 2 worse than Resistance 2? ... I fail to see how that is possible. Killzone 2 is better than CoD:W@W and that is better than Resistance 2. So someone needs to do the math there.
I would say it's between Fable 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Perfect Dark Zero, and Uncharted.

Master of Orion 3.

MoO2 was one of the best 4X games ever. The sequel completely dropped the ball and was released as an unfinsihed mess.

Most disappointing game ever to me was metal gear solid 2! I really hate Raiden, and the story was confusing and all over the place...thank god they redeemed themselves with metal gear solid 3 and 4, two really good games.

One game that pops into my mind is Metroid Prime: Hunters. I was expecting a great story, and fun gameplay, but I got a rather lame and repetitive game that really lacked the atmosphere that made the other Metroid games great.

Not the worst game ever, but very disappointing.

Other than that, I usually buy games I know I will like.

I'm aware that someone is going to mention Halo 3 because hating Halo is 'in' right now so I thought I'd say right now that Halo 3 did not dissapoint me.

One game that did however... Half Life 2

Also... welcome to the escapist. Someone has to be the one to give a warm welcome and I guess that's gotta be me. We all drew straws and I got the short one so yeah.... Welcome to the Escapist I hope you like it here.
*Cough* fanboy *Cough*

Empire: Total War, for me, has been the worst game I have bought in three years. Yes I bought Halo 3, it was meh, but Empire bites the soggy biscuit.

I could never get into the Fable games... with Fable 2 I spent 30 minutes being a bartender and then went back to playing WoW. 8)
At least he has an opinion. :p
BURN!!!!

Mercenaries 2. Great concept, poor execution thanks to being entirely broken, with the AI as dumb as they can get which really, really destroys the whole pleasure that you can get in playing it. oh and I'm reinstalling it at the moment, might as well enjoy those few hours before the next semester starts.
Frankly, I'm amazed Mercs 2 hasn't come up more often in this thread. More bugs than an acre of ground.

Farcry 2 I know its not a console port but really did they not think to bother removing those blue boxes on the walls to save game when I can quicksave wherever i please and those stupid diamond suitcases that just screamed "xbox live achievement" I mean whos hiding these things why i found one placed in a cave which had wooden planks nailed over the entrance to protect it.
A near useless buddy system because they would turn up to save you (actualy a really nice touch) but then didn't have the intelligence to ride shotgun.

Ok, first off all u seem very aware of a much of a hype fest halo is since u start defending before the flamin comes and by ur hl2 remark u reveal ur utter ignorance in games and should check up the definition of quality sumtime...

Frikkin shit-box noob
... it takes a certain level of skill to manage to mispell 'sometime' especially when accusing people of being stupid so yeah... congratulations. Also for god's sake spell 'you' as a word it's just two other letters... not hard. Finally no such word as 'frikkin' and I love that I'm being told I'm ignorant for liking something something I actually enjoyed and being dissapointed by a game that I did not enjoy as much, I assume I'm ignorant because I did not cater to your views of gaming nor do I just spend my time going on forums attacking everyone who thinks differently to me. So yeah.
I did not hate Half Life 2, there were some aspects that I liked, the characters and aliens for example. But when douchebags like oh say YOU come onto forums when I say I like Halo and telling me to play Half Life because it's 'great, awesome, divine, the reason for being and all creation' I expect something better. Not something with generic enemies, a muddy story, confusing navigation and a hell of a lot of hype. Hype that is these days equal to or greater than Halo's.
I like how just liking a game that I like somhow justifies calling me a 'Frikken shit-box noob'... legend. So you attack me for being a fanboy then end revealing not only are you a Valve Fanboy but that you are a Sony fanboy too. Nice.
Finally I did not defend Halo 3, I wasn't telling everyone they were wrong I was just giving a blanket statement that I did in fact LIKE the game. That's it.

So... hope you can be bothered to read all these big scary words hope I didn't scare you off by using full words and proper sentances. Also... Welcome to the Escapist.
