What is the most rediculous thing someone has said to you as a matter of fact about a video game...

A "friend" of mine was so sure that Blizzard made Baldur's Gate. I waited a whole week until he chose to start jokingly brag about knowing everything. Before I continue, I'll tell you that he's going to college, which in his mind he thinks he does know everything. And I said, "No you don't." Then I commenced to school him. It made me feel better, considering he ALWAYS does that sh*t.

[quote="Asehujiko" post="9.83709.1177883@vanguard1219: official articles are hard to find as blizzard doesn't want to admit they got kicked out of a project and games workshop doesn't want to admit they are now loosing almost $2.000.000.000 a year over it. Almost all news sites who had it back then are now defunct, try browsing arround on archive.org[/quote]

I have heard that GW wanted Blizzard to make a WH game but they did not like were the project was going so they bailed out. But I doubt that GW are losing that much money over it, otherwise they would have been bankrupt by now.

I was playing GTA IV one time when a friend of mine accused the game of being sexist. I tried to be charitable to the game and defend it by saying that it wasn't THAT sexist.

Then Little Jacob called me up and asked if I wanted to go to a strip club. Jamaican bastard, torpedoed my argument.

"We should play Halo Mobile on the PSP. I know I could kick your ASS!"

"I love COD 5! I cant wait untill they make COD 6!"

"When is Mario gonna come out on PSP?"

"Fallout 3 was originally made for the mobile phone."

Oh! Just so you guys know these were all said by my friend who claims to play video games 40 + hours a week and read Game Informer.

people have said to me:
Majora's Mask is better than Ocarina of Time
You shouldn't play computer games
Sonic is better now it's 3D
Well, I greatly prefer MM to OoT.
each to there own, i just don't see what you do. MM is a good game and there are aspects of it that are done better than in OoT but as a game generally, i much prefer OoT. how would you rate WW and TP compared to OoT and MM
I like MM's much darker theme, more involved storyline and sidequests and the mask mechanic :p

My order of preference (descending) of the 3D Zelda games is Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Ocarina and Twilight Princess.

so, if i've got this right, Wind Waker is your favorite, Twilight Princess you consider the worst? wow, i'm the exact opposite. Wind Waker was good, but not as good as it was hyped up to be. it definitely didn't deserve the 10/10 it received, but you probably disagree with me on that one.

"Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is coming out on the PS2."
"Dead Rising is also on the original Xbox."
Both of those statements made me cringe inside.

I don't quite see how a strip club is sexist.

"Halo is the greatest game ever made."

Guess he forgot about the rest of the greatest games ever made. Like Serious Sam for example or Carmageddon or Populous.

And now I'm going to make a statement that people might quote in this thread.
Zelda games is SHIT. They are crap. They suck. Deal with it :D

I have heard a great majority of these, and though this post will be at least 8 pages in thus making it read by very few individuals I will make my list with those comments about the lengths of games I have heard.

"The original Super Mario Bros is the first game to use the AI Director to increase replay time. These valve people are full of shit."

"I think I set a new record on portal. I beat it in under 4 hours." Stated by my brother. (With my response I am not saying I have the fastest time on portal, nor am I saying that my time is very quick compared to most people.) I then picked up the controller from him and cleared the game using the floor cannon and other puzzle skipping techniques to finish in just under 19 minutes.

"Wind Waker is the longest Zelda game and takes at least 60 hours to finish."

Now here are the short and hilarious ones.

"Half life 2 is the first game by valve. The two is the to show that the game is only 25% of the final episodic series."

"Sega's first game wass Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360."

"When will people learn that you can't write books based on games like Lord of the Rings? This Tolkien fellow is retarded for thinking he could." (I then proceeded to punch this guy in the gut, and told him to go to a library for once in his life)

You win the thread. The last one reminds me of the stories of people coming out of the cinema after seeing the Lord of the Rings films, talking about whether they've read the book and someone saying "no, I never read novelisations..." As to the first, how can anyone not know that Sega used to make consoles?

Has someone mentioned holding down "A+B" or some sort of varied combo in pokemon to increase the chance of catching them?
Dammit. I did that all the time when I was a kid. Wasted time. :(
You and me both. I think holding Down on the D-pad was the rumour doing the rounds when I played Pokemon.
