Metallica. And I will still be listening to them until I die.
Same here.
Not sure if Slayer was formed before them but regardless one of these two is the oldest I listen to.
Slayer is older.Slayer was one of the inspirations that get Metallica to start.

Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and all the other classical musicians.
I also listen to old hits from the thirties, my favourite of which being Cole Porter. I am really out of touch when it comes to listening to 'cool music'.

Robert Johnson (b1911 - d1938) - One of my favourite and probably the most influential blues guitarist of all time...
Incredible guitarist. Delta blues is such an interesting genre I love the dryness of the guitar contrasted by soulful vocals.

Oldest I would like to listen to at the moment would be Pink Floyd. Got older stuff of course, but I don't listen to it on a daily basis.

I have a playlist from a Fallout 3 mod that adds 100 songs to Galaxy News Radio. So that's 100 songs from 1933 to somewhere in the '40s or '50s. Haven't really looked into the exact dates.

I listen to it almost every night while trying to fall asleep.

Yeah, I'm amazed at how well his recordings have stood up against the test of time. They still sound fairly modern...

Also I didn't realise he was another to die aged 27... Add him to the list ..

Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones, Richey James Edwards, Jim Morrison, Ron Mckernan, Janis Joplin... I'm sure this is when Keef was supposed to have died too. Blatantly made a deal with the devil... That list is getting stupidly big now...

Iron Maiden, I think. Though the oldest song I have is "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Ray Charles.

I listened to some Samuel Barber today, that's pretty old. To balance it I had to listen to the Ghost in the Shell soundtrack, that's a Russian opera singer from the future and it's awesome.
