What is the Origin of your Username or Avatar?

It all came from when I started with SC2. First it was Zev when I still hadn't decided on the race. Then I decided that I would be zerg and a free name-change came out and I renamed my self InfestedOne. Then on WoW I named my deathknight that because Deathling was busy.
And then I figured I might as well use it here.
Avatar is because SC is awesome.

Well... there's a few aspects to it.

First: Chrono Trigger is the greatest RPG ever, with Magus being one of the coolest characters in the game.
Second: I'm a D&D player, and wizards are my all time favorite class.
Third: I think foxes are cool.

Well, since 'Magus' is another term used for 'Wizard' I get to use Magus to represent the first two, and chose 'Vulpes' since 'Magus Fox' doesn't have quite the same allure.

My pic is Magus' Pic from character art released with the Playstation release of Chrono Trigger, with a simple recoloring of his hair to be more 'foxy.'

My username comes from a story I created. To cut the story short Its the name of a capital class battleship called:

The ship was destroyed in battle early in the story but the captain (Captain Flayed) gets to command the newly rebuilt battleship in a final battle to defend her homeplanet, after taking command, she renames the ship:

The Etherlance

However despite fighting bravely, her fleet is losing the battle so she rams her ship into the centre of the enemy fleet (Taking critcal damage in the process) and triggers a warpspace tear by overloading her warp engines, thus destroying herself and the Etherlance but taking half the enemy fleet (inclding the enemy flagship) with it.

Avatar: It's an ultra hero from Patapon 3. It was featured in a poster that came out for Patapon 3 and so I saved it and then I used the paint program to erase the background.

Original username- On my very first online game, I wanted a username with "Doom" in it. So I tried something random. It didn't work, but "Doomlord1375" was suggested instead. That stuck for a while.

A few years later, I didn't want the numbers anymore, but "Doomlord" was taken in most places. So, I needed a new name. I like to think of myself as a gentleman, so SirDoom worked perfectly =)

As for the avatar... on most forums, I used to use a screenshot of a revenant from Doom 3 as my avatar. One particular forum had a tradition where people added a Santa hat to their avatar around Christmas. I was just too lazy to remove it after Christmas. It stayed like that for years.

Then on a different forum, someone was doing stick-figure sketches of other people's avatars. I liked their sketch of mine so much that I started using it instead of my old avatar. I added a little colour in paint, but I still use it to this day.

Avatar should be obvious, because its from one of the few books I think everyone should be required to read. Well, the movie version since the book doesn't have oictures, but the reference should be obvious.

The name is actually less obvious. I didn't get the name from that Kubla Khan poem. I got it from an anime called, "Serial Experiments Lain", where a project called Xanadu, referencing the poem, was a significant plot point. I was a massive anime fan in high school, when I first started using the internet and needed a proper handle. Also, I realize that putting the year of your birth after a name has fallen out of style, but I find it useful to know the age of a person im talking too, and want to return the favor. I like not having to deal with people who disagree with me accusing me of being a child or something: Having my birth year lets people know that I remember 9/11, don't really remember the end of the cold war, and am an adult. Saves a little time.

Username- A made up name I use on this online game. While I did plan the first name, it turn out the game needed a surname/ secondary name so I randomly thought of that as it blend the overall name nicely.

Avatar- I pretty much got into MLP FiM and I need a new image to replace my dull image (my character face from the same online game mention above). I went through a few MLP images and gif and this one struck out since I know how popular she is like on Youtube. I think the gif is cute and had a nice colour so I chose that as my new gif (althought I now seen more people on this site using it as their avatar so I may get a new one soon).
