What is the worst thing thats happened to your game while playing it?

I was have been replaying the CoD Modern Warfare campaign and after beating the entire game on Veteran, I just needed to beat the last level to be done the whole thing. It is about to load and the Xbox wont read the disk! I tried like ten times to no avail. SO I ask, what is the worst thing that happened to you game while playing it?

Saved wile stuck in a glich without a back up save file . I did that right after I got through my least favorite part of a game and had to start overfram the begining.

I had a case of my friend saving over my 100% complete GTA: VC data when he borrowed my PS2.
I vowed not to lend games and the like to anyone ever again.

formatted the wrong fucking HDD trowing away all my savegames all my installs all my ISO's (and don't do like you don't have any clue what i am talking about) and my pictures of family and friends were also gone. does not matter who needs friends
It was not during the game but it still sucked anyway

When I was 10, I had several level 100 pokemon on the blue version...without using the rare candy cheat...and my brother dropped the gameboy, which somehow erased my game data.

My Halo copy was scrached and cannot be installed on any PC, but I can still play if the game already installed. Obviasly, my HDD crashed and I can't play Halo anymore...

i was playing CoD 3 when i decided i want to see what my Xbox looks like right side up..while the game was running. i tilted it up and a grinding sound occurred. So i decided to put back across and the grinding sound happened again. it scratched the disc all the way through and i could get past the intro without getting a disc error. So my buddy at the arcade gave me the best scratch remover. it removed the scratches, but did not fix the problem. so i traded it in for $30 to Gamestop.

When i first got tekken 5 me and my bro played it amost endlessly until we had gotten every character, then not even a day later the save file got corrupted and we had to do it all over again, the last boss in that game was such a *****.

While playing through Fallout 3, I managed to get stuck in a position that i could not get out of. Couldn't jump over, couldn't crouch over, couldn't fast move, couldn't regular move.

In my attempt to get myself out of the situation I loaded my most recent saved game. Or so I thought. I actually overwrote it, with me stuck in place. Reloading did not help. Lost like an hour or so of gameplay.

When I was playing Generals online then suddenly a new update came up so it kicked me off my game which I was winning, and I had to wait for about 2 hours before it was done. Thats not the worst though! After the update was done it got rid of my high score and screwed up all my recorded videos.

It still gives me the shits till this day!

Forgetting to save in games like Import Tuner Challenge or Tokio Xtreme Racer Zero because they don't have auto save features.

Accidently saved over my current files on Tales of Symphonia/Vesperia. The Vesperia one had me swearing very loudly at myself

When I was about 14, I was around halfway through the Allied campaign on Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge when the game locked up to the tune of a nasty grinding sound, and the disk drive wouldn't open. Got the drive out to try and save the disk, and it came out in some 30 or 40 pieces.

Funny now I look back on it but it wasn't at the time..

Going to say back when I was playing Tony Hawk for N64. When I first purchased it I didn't have a memory card. I had played the game to the last level before going to the store to finally get a memory card. While I was gone, my mom turned off the system. Then the same thing happened with Spryo for the PS1... I am so grateful for built in hard drives.

Quick-saving on Abes exodus after jumping off a cliff on the last level.
after falling 3 screens, I managed to quick-save a split-second from impact. It was amusing to watch, but I had to start again.

Well when playing through KotOR/C&C games/NWN the computer sometimes suddenly restarts and all my progres + saved games is erased... Also happens when the elictricity suddenly shuts down...

Playing a game with a disk in and the computer again suddenly restarts = can't open the disk drive without screwing up the disk...

Yes, one of the best thing about the new gen. of consoles. No god damn memory cards!
