What is up with Ichigo Kurosaki?

On that note, does anyone else think that Bleach would be infinitely better if they actually put some effort into staying consistant? Such as not having a flash back every 3.5 minutes about some trivial event which is thoroughtly borring and that everyone with more braincells then a squirrel has worked out anyway.

Who cares? Bleach has become the new Dragonball Z. Way too long, and the story-writers have given up entirely in favor of everyone's "power levels" going up every once in a while.

Tru dat, to get to anything vaguely interesting you have to wade through a river of shit.

No, what they should do is have Kenpachi and Hollow Ichigo fight for about twenty episodes instead of filler.

Wrong.
Ichigo only gains his own shinigami power after Byakuya cuts away Rukia's power.
This is why Urahara makes him do the shattered shaft; to gain (not regain) his own power.

In effect, Rukia's power was only useful in so far as a stop gap for a few situations.

Him being hollow has nothing to do with his mother. He became a hollow the same time he regained his shingami powers (if I recall correctly). The chain of life thing was 'coming to an end' thus triggering his transformation into a hollow, simultaneously he finds the red thread in that box and pulls out Zangetsu, re-awakening his shinigami powers.

If I'm correct any human can become a hollow, can they not?

While we are on the topic of the source of various peoples powers, can anyone explain to me where Chad and Orihime's powers come from? Everyone else with any sort of abilities seems to belong to some group or other that have similar abilities and all have a direct source/origin story (Hollows, Quincies, Soul Reapers, Bants, etc.). Chad and Orihime are the only characters (that I am aware of) to spontaneously develop powers and not then be linked to some other organization.

Also, another question they may (probably) have answered at some point but I missed: If when humans die, they go to the Soul Society, what happens when you die in the Soul Society (I know it's possible, Soul Reapers has died in various fights with Hollows. As an example, The Grand Fisher)? Do you get reincarnated on Earth again?
