A spy! Having all the cool gadgets, flouncing around suspicious facilities, throwing sharp things at people I don't want living anymore, uncovering conspiracies... it'd be amazimg :) But a slightly more realistic (and less dangerous) one would be a journalist! Because then I'd still get to snoop around shady places with a huge camera and uncover devious plots! Maybe, or I'd just report on some kid with cancer or the opening of a new park xD Too bad journalism doesn't pay very well... *sigh*

Guess it would be cliche around here, but game developer (specifically programmer).
Right now, I'm a software developer. So, almost there...

Well, a dream job would be "consulting detective", basically Sherlock Holmes. I actually do have almost all of the characteristics of a detective right now, my personality allows me to see more than most people. I have a nasty gut instinct and a lot of foreshadowing dreams on top of that. I just know what's going to happen, what the next step is.

Of course, that's a dream that would be very, VERY unlikely to happen. So I'm sticking to my current ambition of archaeologist. That's actually quite interesting to me, and much more feasible.

The absolute ideal (in order of priority):
I would like to teach college-level linguistics
and in my spare time write and record my own music
and write stories/novels as I feel like it.

Does anyone here teach college? Is there such thing as spare time?
What about linguistics? I am taking third year Latin right now and figure I am on the right track as a high-schooler, am I right?

Teaching English in Japan, currently working my way towards it, hopefully by next year it will happen.
Great job, terrible career. I did it for two and a half years. You'll find that after about 3 years, even your employers will want you out of the country. My employers would never admit it, but they wanted me gone after one year, it's just the nature of the business. But teaching English in a foreign country is something everybody from an English country should do. It's fairly well paid and it really makes you feel more like a citizen of the world.

Anyway as for the OT, I'd like to draw/write comics. I have 2 ideas I've been mulling over and I'll be going to art school next year, so hopefully I can pitch the ideas to somebody.

Indie game developer. The rise of indie games lately has really inspired me. Currently in college studying media informatics, which is basically learning about the technical side of media(graphics, sound, internet, etc) and of course programming. Hoping to actually finish a game before I graduate.

My ultimate goal is to make an indie game company with a group of friends(I know it's not the biggest dream but hey :D)

I'd like something without a lot of thinking or work. Something simple, and it doesn't have to pay that well. I just want to minimize the amount of energy I expend.

If I could make money off of Let's Play videos like some people do, I'd like to do that, but my equipment has a tendency to break down/get taken by my dad for his use at random occasions.

If I could draw at all, I'd love to draw comics. But my skills aren't good at all.

I'd also love to be a musician, but the theory behind it bores me so.

I'd like to be a cartoonist. Technically I already am, but I want to get paid for it. I've been cartooning for about six years. The problem is applying my cartoons to a medium.

Since me and a few friends are setting up a company right now, I suppose officially being the art director of an indie games company is my dream job already? BUSINESS. But in the future, continuing it on to do anything on the creative side of games design or CG in movies/animations.

Also check us out maybe, first project admittedly is a stepping stone and we don't mind if it doesn't go well but after that we really are gunning for it so look out for any of our later stuff.

Owner of a traveling waffle bar. Get a team of caterers and a flatbed truck and just drive around third world or poverty stricken countries offering free waffles. This has been my ultimate goal for years now. Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to find some one to pay me to do this...
This was my first post on the Escapist. My answer remains the same.
Damn. That is a more awesome goal than wanting to go to grad school and become president, in my opinion.

I want to be a popular fiction author, like Stephen King! But really, I'd probably just come out as an okay writer...

My life dream is to be an actor.

I wish I had some deep, insightful reason for my dream, but it's actually pretty simple. I'm most happy when sitting in front of a movie screen with a bag of popcorn in my lap and a plethora of emotions going through my head.

I'd love to travel the world eating cheese, chocolate, bread, and steak from different countries. For real-world ambitions I'm hoping to eventually get into production for games, but Jesus it's tough getting a job in the industry.

Another generation 2012er here! I really would like to have my own successful cover band. My dream would really be making money by preserving the music of the past so that future generations who live without their own Dio, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, etc. really get to remember what music was once like and how good it was.

But in a more realistic but at the same time dream job is being a game developer (engineer/programmer) which I do plan to study in college. I manage computers very well, and so that seems cool.

Maybe a third job would be guitar tech for a band or a sound engineer working at a guitar company. That could always be open for me.

Something creative. Anything really. I write, I draw, I do photography and graphic design, and some modeling. I try to do it all. I think I'd love to write my own books and do some illustrations for them, but I dunno.

Right now, I'd be happy with anything but retail and customer service.

I would love to go and live/work in Britian for a while. But we'll see how that really pans out.

Should I even say it again?

Game Designer. Actually, I'd settle for anything: Artist, writer, whatever! I want to start off by learning about the video game making industry and then make my way up until I can develop my own story, world, characters and such. I already have something in mind that could work beautifully if given the chance.

But I just don't know how to start! I'm getting a Graphic Design major just to have something to fall back on. After that, I'm not sure if I should have a Game Design title or just try and get a job related to the industry already. So there's that.
