Tell me what you like fighting.

My favorite type of enemy is the zombie type, because there can be an unlimeted amount of them in any area it all depends on the population of the place you are fighting in. Plus they add alittle hooror to any game with them in, and its always nice when you walk into a room and a zombie lunges at you and trys to bite at you neck. But i only like the ones that can be killed with a shot to the head or spine, and that cant hold things or talk about eating brains. Kinda like imatators where the zombie picks up a pipe, ax, gun, ect. I like both the slow and fast the all provide a good chalange. But i have yet to find a really good zombie game. Of course resident evil4 was a great game but you were not fighting zombies but more of a person with a alien inside of them.

Well I must say the versatility of a skeleton is unparalleled, they show up everywhere. I like the concept behind them, and they sometimes give me fits, which I appreciate, but don't always ram a stick in my ass either, which hurts. Painfully.

The thing is, I like fighting the enemies they pit against you later in the game, usually having the same abilities as you. This only corresponds to games in which you are an above average protagonist, such as Timeshift, FEAR, Halo, etc. They pit you against someone else who has your powers, and it is always an awesome fight.

Also, I have noticed something. In every fantasy game - and some Sci-Fi games - you always hate the caster enemies/bosses the most. Warriors? You know what they can do, so just don't get hit. Archers? Get in close and bash them. Assassins/ninjas/rogues? Smack them to stun them, they don't do much damage but are crazy fast.

It's the casters that screw with you. You never know what they are going to throw at you next, and they are usually pretty nuts with their fireballs and lightning and all that. Anyone else notice that the casters are always the enemies/bosses that, when you see them, you say "Argh, friggin' casters man."

Find a copy of Danger Girl? Just kidding. Killzone will work. Not German Nazis, but pretty much fall under similar classification. Or delve into the classic Wolfenstein series.

I agree on zombies, fun to fight in numerous games. Heck, often use them as enemies in my plans. Just so lovable. Elder Scrolls series made me hate skeletons though.

If you're being serious, I'd lamp you one. If you're being sarcastic, I'll still lamp you one.

Anyways, I've always loved the Elites from Halo. Always been fun fighting those bastards. They put up a good fight, and they were smarter that the other cannon-fodder.

I also love Theron Guards for Gears of War. They're crafty, and they soak up the damage. Thank god I've never versed those guys on Insane.

you just gotta love grunts man, they say the funniest things... and are totally random, they'll run, come towards you, throw a grenade... there should have been some kinda uber-grunt with shields and such and as high as the brutes, trust me, won't have been as easy.....

if by enemy we mean enemy type... then every male monster in Prince of Persia:Warrior Within, for some reason you can't vault over female enemies by jumping, they always hurt you bad :(
and shahdee made the usually mild-mannered prince swear and cry.... the first fight with shahdee : unforgettable.
here i am learning how to use the controls, the creeps have reduced my health to a little bit, and shahdee so much as touches the prince and he falls to the ground, dead.
the crow was also fun the first time over. in fact, the combat in Warrior Within was so fluid, not overpowered counter-instakills, it made fighting every monster fun, even that dog whose existence i have never quite been able to explain.

Who's played Devil May Cry 4? Some of the most fun combat I've experienced in ages. I love the way the Alto Angelos (golden sword-wielding suits of armour) will lead the Bianco Angelos (silver lancer suits of armour) into combat, ordering charges and making sure they all work in formation. It's a different sort of enemy than I've seen before, and for that, they get praise.

Aside from that, fighting Dante is always awesome. Because he's a playable character, you know all the moves, all the weapons, all the styles he can use. And he uses all of them. Maybe not the first time you fight him (as the level 1 tutorial), but as the boss in the higher levels, he'll switch between styles, whip out his Coyote-A Shotgun when you least expect it, make use of every attack, every technique you can use when you play as him. It really surprised me just how much like fighting a player it was to fight against Dante. Most fun dying I've ever had.

Absolutely. They're tenacious opponents who make use of cover and high ground when they can. Because they, like you, possess regenerating shields, they can be absolute bastards to fight. They'll even grab vehicles you discard. Now, what WOULD be awesome is if they also took discarded weapons. So if you shoot the Grunt with the Fuel Rod Gun, the Elite should drop his Plasma Rifle and take that. And if you knock out a Jackal Sniper from range, the Elite commanding him should take his weapon and fire back, possibly being an even better shot than the Jackal. It's intelligence and versitlity that make memorable enemies, I find, and at the time, none had the intelligence of the Elite.

Oh, and for people who say "I want to fight the Nazis", I have a question. Why do you want to fight Nazis? It's all well and good to say that you enjoy killing members of the most demonised political party in history, but are they fun to fight or fun to kill?

The Elites were great. Very agile in addition to having regenerating hit points. Why don't more enemies in modern games have regenerating health? It makes it alot more challenging when you can't just whittle the bad guy's health down by shooting his exposed foot again and again.
