What is your favorite old video game music?

Ecco the Dolphin: Tides of Time. This was probably one of my first video games ever, I was about 4 when I played it. When I heard this:
like 10 years later, my knees weakened from nostalgia. Pretty eerie piece, too.

Oh, wow, you're absolutely right! Completely skipped those somehow, as well as Echo which had some great music as well.

If we're talking old video game (Pre-2001?) I'm gonna have to go with Alisia Dragoon on the Sega Genesis.

And of course, Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation, almost entirely for becuase of the track "The Best is Yet to Come", sung by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. It just happens to be one of the most beautiful tracks from a video game, period.

As for the people saying Halo? It's not really an old game yet, is it? Don't get me wrong, great music, but... Doesn't really fit in this thread I don't think.

Storm Eagle from Mega Man X. Mostly because Powerglove did an awesome rendition of it.

Pretty much everything from Mega Man X would qualify. I'd say it's one of the best game soundtracks ever.

Yeah, I know it's too popular or whatever, but the original Legend of Zelda soundtrack is amazing.

Right, its either the old pokemon music from Red/Blue when battling the elite four, the music from worms, the music from the original spyro the dragon in the artisan world or tetris. I can't choose! That said, Spyro had consistantly awsome music throughout and the others had but one tune each.
