Well I guess you are never going to be taking an IQ test because you can't "prove" anything in science. all we can do with a well built test is look for reliability and validity. While as many mentioned there are many imitators and only a very few true IQ tests these do have high reliability and validity (not perfect but nothing is). Beyond that it must be recognized that IQ tests need to be used as part of a larger evaluation of intelligence using many different measures as well as interviews etc. For adults that might matter very little as long as they are functional and able to do well in a job. For a child it may be more influential especially if they are considered gifted or developmental disabled.-Zen- said:When they come out with an IQ test that is proven to be accurate, I'll take one. Until then, all I know is that I catch on to things quicker than most other people.

Statistically speaking you can't get a 0 on an IQ test. There are people who score in the teens in IQ its considered profound mental retardation yes in many cases need breathing tubes and a lot of care. However for people that are recognized as this being a possibility they give a test that is very unlike the written test that is given to average people. I think it's really ignorant of you however to say things like "smart enough" to breathe.Muzza-Maaate said:IQ tests are un-reliable for one simple reason: You can fail and IQ test and get a score of zero. And you need an IQ of 27 or something to be smart enough to breathe... sooooo. (Regional genius)
Same, but I feel like I've dumbed down considerably.brodie21 said:simple, the last time i got mine checked, when i was five, i got a 130, even though they couldnt get me to pay attention, or so i am told.
