Death comes in a lot of symbols. Some say the grim reaper, others say a snake, while I've heard some say a crow.

What I want to know fellow escapists is what is your symbol of death? What in your mind would represent death best?

EDIT: It can by anything from a animal to an object.

Generalised, the human or [insert creature's] skull itself is normally considered as the symbol of death. The grim reaper is just an offshoot of Thanatos (The greek god of death) while snakes are a symbol of cynicism, sin and the devil(serpent).

this pretty much.

for mods: what? why don't you just post the actual number for the minimum character count you're looking for so i don't have to post these extra wastes of space anymore.

I may have to go with a scythe or death himself. I am not 100% sure, but those seem the closest.

Not always. People got buried alive quite often in the old days. Sometimes they got set free.

Don't know why, but a decapitated head. Not a skull. A head with flesh. If that doesn't symbolize death, I don't know what does.

When I think about death, I tend to think of an hourglass. So here is a drawing I took from google images.
