My town, Sandwich, is the oldest town on Cape Cod and one of Elvis's cover album art was a picture of a church in town.

Being the origin and hometown of Adidas and Puma should make it quite famous, one would think.

My hometown was a little nowhere place in the Ottawa Valley called Deep River. It has the highest concentration, not number, of PhDs (science, usually physics but some chemistry) in the world. They all work at the nuclear research reactor in Chalk River. It was Canada's contribution to the Manhatten Project in WW2. Apparently now it produces something like half the world's medical isotopes so every time the reactor, which is fifty years old, has a death rattle the entire medical profession has to check their insurance policies.

Of course God forbid the gvmt actually builds a new reactor, that would simply be too sensible.

Apparently, it's a renowned market town, but I know that it's famous (if at all) due to the large amount of underage boozers, petty crime, and hooded youths...

I'm in NYC and we used to be known for weird clubs, unique stores, and a wide variety of people.
Now it's a town known for being the best place to be a landlord, the interesting clubs have closed or moved away, the shopping areas look like every other mall in america (only chain store franchises can afford the rent), and the only people who can afford to live here now are rich people and people poor enough to get public housing.
Bloomberg sucks.

Beautiful Scotland winner 2008, and being the centre of Fife's Council, that's it really.

Annette Funnicello of Mickey Mouse Club fame, those stereotypical longjohns with the flap on the butt, having parts of the movie "Slap Shot" flimed at our sports arena and where the first color newspaper, "The Utica Saturday Globe" was published.
