I like to expand my knowledge of things even if it's not to pass a test. OMG, I'm such a nerd.

I know the lyrics to opening songs from The Power Rangers, Magilla Gorilla, Hong Kong Phooey, and a few other shows.

I also have gotten a lot of post over a short period of time while here on the 'scapist.

I play lots of videogames, have difficulty interacting socially, have an encyclopedic knowledge of star wars, and can tell you everything you need to know about zombie survival.

Well, look at mine. I've been here about a month and have 1600 posts...jesus, I need a job.

And I am currently trying to build a wining Blitzball team in FFX. Been doing so for roughly 4 hours of my play time.

I actively search for old games for the PC or old consoles.
I have a whole shelf on my massive bookcase dedicated to video games.
I have a Danish (read Viking) battle axe on the back of my bedroom door.
I enjoy reading/writing science fiction and fantasy stories.
I have a Zombie survival plan.
I enjoy Dwarf Fortress.

This, and I spend much time on the internet.

Also, I'm the only person who I know who can call a nice piece of mathematics beautiful, or spend an a quarter of an hour just staring at a plant, engrossed in the natural patterns

But then again, sometimes I'm just weird...

I am a member of the Escapist. I study science and medicine. I watch Sci-fi, I know a dangerous number of show tunes. I actively study foreign languages; I almost mastered Quenyan but gave up on it ages ago. I need to have a new book by the time I am done with the current one or I get fidgety. I own three consoles and three computers; the OS on two of those computers are Linux (Ubuntu Heron and Debian Lenny). I understand XKCD jokes. Finally, I have an alarming collection of science fiction movies that stretches back to VHS versions.

Edit: I also have BSG cufflinks and a USB lightsaber.

"Nerd (pronounced /ˈnɜrd/) is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests rather than engaging in more social or popular activities. Therefore a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers or will tend to associate with like-minded people."

Straight from the Wiki. So in this case, yes. Yes I am. And most of you are as well.

I have read 'The Zombie survival guide' and 'World War Z' three times. EACH.

Also I believe that the world would be a more interesting place if the solanum infection did occur. Then at least I wouldn't get bored.

I can create a complex paradox that only I can understand. The concept of two conflicting variables seems to be too much for the average English mind...

I disagree. It's not pronounced 'nthreerd'.

I use the internet for reasons other than social networking and cheating on essays. In addition, I don't use it for those two reasons.
