Everyone has that one movie that no matter how many times they see it, it still makes them sad. What movie makes you tear up, or sad, or depressed? Whether a certain scene chokes you up or the ending always gets to you, maybe the movie in general makes you upset. So what movie makes you feel down?

For me it's Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc. My reason is kinda dumb, I was watching when my last girlfriend (whom I loved very deeply) broke up with me, so it always reminds me of her.

Well, I only saw it once, but The Mist was pretty dang sad, and for no good reason too. They could have had a not horribly depressing ending and the movie would have been just as good, if not better. But no, they choose the saddest, most pitiful ending possible. *sighs* I actually think the movie was worse off for it.

"I Am Legend" and the part with the poor puppy dog turning.
That just makes my heart want to jump right on out and strangle me.

Or I spaz right the fuck out with overwhelming depression for the dog and because of that I just can't watch the movie even though I love it.

The movie Troy.

Seriously, Achilles is such a dick. Hector was the most reasonable man in the movie! I still rage at this fact to this day.

Yeah I know it was what was supposed to happen to be accurate, while at the same time the movie was not the greatest rendition of The Illiad in the first place. But I am a Trojan sympathizer, what can I say!

Have to hand it to Brokeback Mountain, I've seen a lot of films and I've been moved but pretty much never cry. But jesus this film was just morose and a scene towards the end got me pretty misty eyed :(

Mine is Boys Don't Cry.

I love that movie, but damn, I just can't bring myself to watch it often. Damn.

Considering even The Illiad is widely unreliable, you can't expect the film to do much better!

But I did like the way Pitt portrayed Achilles as this arrogant, pompous wanker. Even when considering the legend itself, Achilles sounds like a bit of a tosser. He thinks he is half god for crying out loud XD. He probably didn't even exist though.

Grave of the Fireflies. Nuff said.
Amen! I had to watch it for class one time and I had a hard time discussing the movie the next day.

True enough, but it had plenty of inconsistencies with some things it easily could have avoided in relation to The Illiad. Having been forced to read so many Greek plays on top of that, I was a bit disappointed Agamemnon died in the movie and not back home, though I guess he had it coming either way.

He was a pompous prick, even watching it now I still root for Hector. That man is a hero!

I did love the ending though, the relation to Annaeus and the founding of Rome. Probably not true but it was a nice touch.

This is dumb but I remember watching Joe dirt fairly young and that scene towards the end when he found his parents but they just wanted to use him for fame and fortune, that made me pretty sad.

But seriously my most depressing movies are both drug movies

Spun and Requiem For A Dream

Check out Spun if you have not seen it really underated movie with a great score by Billy Corgan. more funny than depressing but it is still a pretty bleak look into a couple of days with a methhead.

The last episode of Summer Heights High. Poor Jonah... In a way he was so innocent.
Movie? Well the book was sadder, but The Road. Marlie and Me because I have a old yellow lab.

The book had a shitty ending, or lack thereof. It basically left the ending to the reader's imagination with little resolution.
OT: I'm going to have to say Requiem for a Dream. If I remember correctly Empire online ranked it as the most depressing movie of all time.
