I'll take this opportunity to shamelessly plug a favorite group of mine in an under-represented genre.

Here's a link to Heart of Courage, one of many great songs by Two Steps from Hell (classifed in iTunes as Classical):

Awesome song but I can't help but feel i've heard it in several different places before.
It was used in a trailer for Mass Effect 2. I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't popped up elsewhere, too.

I mostly listen to Grunge, Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Trip Hop, Alternative rock, and some indie now and then.

Most Metal just sucks in my personal opinion.

Hmm. I like a relatively wide range of music, but I don't tie myself down to stereotypical genres. Generally, I like the most stereotypical or popular bands of each genre, so it's probably easier to list bands and artists rather than types of music.
Punk: Rise Against + The Offspring.
House: Daft Punk + Deadmau5
Dubstep: Skrillex
Nu-Metal (Don't hate on me :/): Linkin Park
I'm also into most of the kinda music featured on the Scott Pilgrim album, and Weird Al!
My favourite song at the moment is this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTx3G6h2xyA&feature=feedf

I listen to all kinds of music whether it be Metal, Rock, Soul, Folk, Orchestral/Symphonic, Ambient/Avant-garde, Electronic etc. Though predominantly I listen to Rock and Metal, with my tastes generally leaning towards the Progressive with a few examples of some my favourite artists within this sub genre below:

Well, generally anything from rock (pretty much any kind) to metal (mostly heavy, power, speed, and symphonic). I have been known to indulge in some pop, rap, or reggae from time to time though...

Anything which is good. I don't restrict myself to not enjoying something because it's from a particular genre. Sure, there are some genres I find myself liking more than others, but I can like anything from Johnny Cash to AC-DC, from Linkin Park to Beethoven. Though my preference in music will depend massively on how I'm feeling.

Maybe that makes me a boring and indecisive person...

Sick song, coincidentally I've been listening to Metric for a large part of the day.

Genre wise I dig doom metal, post punk, indie pop and folk rock.

Well... I listen to Rap, Hip-Hop, Rock, Hard Rock, Symphonic, Heavy Metal, Grunge, Post-grunge, Punk, Electronic, Dubstep... You know, it would just be ridiculous if I listed every genre I like, so let's just say I like a lot of music.

Recently though, I've fallen in love with almost anything involving a piano in any major way, I just love the sound. <3

As for my favourite song at the moment, it has to be this:

I don't listen to music . I really can't stand any kind of music , be it classical ,pop , rock , jazz , rap , hiphop , metal , or whatever .it really doesn't appeal to me . BUT out of curiosity i'd like to go see an opera ...
No personal offence intended but I really don't know how to relate to someone who doesn't connect to music. Music is everything to me, more than video games, films or comic books. I love music more than anything and have no idea how someone can't.

Most all music from the '60's through the '80's, with preference for the band Pink Floyd (my favourite), New Wave and Rock music, and the music from the really good bands I like of the time, like:

-The Beatles
-Peter Frampton
-The Police
-Jimi Hendrix
-The Who
-The Doors
-Led Zeppelin
-Elton John
-Rolling Stones
-Santana

I also think most all music from the '90's on is crap, but with a few gems, like Nirvana, Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, and one or two songs here or there.

I like Electronic Pop/Rock type music like The Limousines and The Postal Service and Punk like Social Distortion and Alkaline Trio. Um, I like a lot of other stuff, but I'm really bad at describing genres, like whatever Death Cab for Cutie is, I like that. I mean, Indie Rock is usually what I tell people, but anything can be "Indie Rock", it's a pretty poor label...
