Jonas Brothers. Their music sucks, and all the girls in my school worship them.
Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana

Its not just the level of inhuman suck their music produces, but the billions of shrieking fangirls that follow them like a horde of retarded leeches. (leeches? suck? It was a pun...)

...and nobody has mentioned Simple Plan yet? O_O
ha I ruined these guys set once back in the day. My roomate used to manage a few punk bands in Toronto, so i used to hang out with them all all the time, one night a simple plan was playing the opera house so me and one of the guys walked backstage (you can when you look like you know what you're doing) drank some of their beer, walked up beside the stage, and both ran out with fistfulls of flyers flyered the crowd, jumped in and took off.
I think they were a little pissed.....

Pink Floyd and Oasis.

Pink Floyd is just overrated, and Oasis is a glorified Beatles tribute band.
I'll agree with you on Oasis (they didn't JUST steal stylistically from the Beatles, though), but in the public at large I don't think Pink Floyd really is. The have enough REALLY CRAZY fans to give that impression, but there are thousands who just enjoy the music. Do you have any subset of Pink Floyd you dislike, or have you really heard much? Piper at the Gates of Dawn sounds little like Dark Side of the Moon, which sounds little like Animals, which bears only some resemblance to Atom Heart Mother. There's some Floyd I simply cannot stand, but I don't know why being overrated would be enough to qualify for "what popular bands do you just hate".

Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, any Disney-based bands/singers, and Jethro Tull.
I'm in awe as to how you put the Stones, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd in the same POST as the Jonas Brothers, much less paragraph or line. The dissonance is about enough to make my head explode, how did this get 4 pages without remark? Are you basing this on the recent stuff, or have you done some digging? All three bands are well past their sell-by date NOW, but give me a report back from '69-'74 for them and THEN we'll talk.

I didn't need to do any digging...all I've heard from Pink Floyd was their older stuff. And I really didn't like it at all. Their songs lacked the energy that I like in music, and they were played way too often on the radio(when I listened to it). And no, I don't care that they made an album that went along with The Wizard of Oz, as I hated that movie, too.
As for the Rolling Stones, they may be classic to some, but the singer is horrible. While "you can't always get what you want," may be a good life lesson, it is a bad SONG. Combined with the atonal crap that was "hope you guess my name," they earned my disdain.
Jethro Tull I just hate because of Rock Band. I realize that there are many other songs that they've made, and they may be better, but because of the level of crap in Aqualung, I never want to hear anything they've made.
Some of the reasons I hate the bands are not completely rational, but any time I hear the bands start up on a song, I have to change the station/song as quickly as possible.
Oh, and go ahead and add any country singer/band to the list of hate.

The Rolling Stones
Micheal Jackson
Rihanna
Linkin Park
Basshunter
P!nk
And all the new, generic crap that people call 'songs'.

Funk FTW.

Coldplay, Razorshite, Kaiserchiefs, every other shitty indie Kaiserchief clone, Leona Lewis + Alex Burke (they aren't bands but they are bloody awful). Ummmmm yeh think I've grouped most of the bands I hate into 'shitty indie Kaiserchief clone'.

Oh yeh The feeling, The fray, James Blunt, Amy Whinehouse.....well pretty much every new band that has brought out a single in the past four years.

'When will Twilight just Fuck Off and Die.' Love it. The statement, not Twilight of course.

It's cool, you just pushed my berserk button in comparing bands who do have glaring flaws to those which merely lack talent entirely.

...I hate the Wizard of Oz too. In fairness, Pink Floyd didn't go out of their way for a synchronization, some pot-head just came across that in serendipity. Too slow, too mellow, and overplayed, fair enough; I have an upper limit for Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell too. My irrational hatred of Steely Dan stems from being exposed to the triteness and repetition of 'Reeling in the Years' too many times in succession on the radio (4+ times in one day?! Seriously?!)

...I don't like 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' or 'Sympathy for the Devil' either, particularly. For a different angle, try 'Ruby Tuesday', 'Lady Jane', 'Gimme Shelter', and 'Jumpin' Jack Flash'. Mick Jagger's vocals are a bit 'off' at the best of times, but that doesn't mean everyone's playing was.

Have you ever heard 'Living in the Past' [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsCyC1dZiN8]? I can't complain too much about Aqualung in Rock Band, because my group of regulars broke 1 million points on it before anything else (It helped that I knew the vocals part). Jethro Tull's big standouts are prog-rock time signatures, flute, and interesting writing.

Tried Johnny Cash?
Ok, I'm done.

Er, which guy's voice? There are two of them: nasal and malicious is Bon Scott, gravelly and choking is Brian Johnson. I hated AC/DC (too much TNT on the radio, and my pedantic "TNT =/= dynamite!" urges) until I started to listen to music for guitar instead of vocals.

Pretty much everything that has been said here.

But I must ask. I thought the original poster said popular. Since when has any death metal band had a following big enough to be considered popular?
