I've come to realise that, odd though it sounds, I find driving by myself to be a very enjoyable, calming experience. I'm alone, no one is talking at me or nagging, I can listen to music or the radio as loud as I want, and moving up and down the gears, flying down main roads and motorways or crawling through towns and villages very relaxing and kinda thereputic. I'm in a little bubble, my own world that I control.

So yeah, I was wondering how other people, namely you lot, achive this chilled out 'me time'. What calms you, what you do to ease your mind etc. Fire away, I expect some odd/ interesting answeres do dont dissapoint :D

I just sit and think about what's bugging me, usually with some music playing.

I rarely actually feel stress though...

Play sandbox games like GTA and run a few civilians over.

It blows a lot of stress, not make me a possible rapist, media.

I go to the local Barnes and Noble, pick up a book or a magazine, and sit down to read. Sometimes i'm there for 30 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours. I show up so often that I know everyone in the store on a first name basis.

Seconded, you cant beat a nice thoughtful spell in the loo, that leaves you satisfied in mind and body. Also, the worse it smells, the better I feel afterwards. Gross, but true :)

Just beacuse it's obvious, don't mean its not a valid response. Even though I dont smoke anything anymore I'm inclined to agree with you :)

Yeah, Prototype is good for that kind of mindless violence to relieve stress as well. Nothing like picking up a truck, throwing it at a helicopter then eating some innocent people :p

Chilling on my day bed in the sun on a breezy day.
Also being a passenger on a long road trip. I'm leaving all my troubles behind and I don't even have to concern myself with what's up ahead.

I have my moments with magur anger/stress/or what ever but I see myself as a very calm dude. I find the movement of the bus while it turns back and fourth to be pretty calming. and I sit all the way in the back so no one can bother my from behind. cuz I find that VERY annoying.

but biggest calmer for me (havnt done it yet, havnt found someone who pisses me that much of) would be to punch someone in the face. just K.O with one hit and BOOM all the weight just flows o my shoulders :3

Well, mine's usually play a game called Black Shades, and just guard the VIP against random people/zombies, and it's good for a relaxant, or just go and play Minecraft.
Or nap, naps are ALWAYS good.

Pick fights with strangers or do something like play five finger fillet. Adrenaline does wonders for the shakes.

I have to agree with you OP, driving alone is very calming. Though I doubt most people would call it calm while singing as loudly as possible...

but OT, probably the most calming thing for me would be going down to a little rock bottom creek behind my house. It almost always has running water, and is quite a beautiful area that I wish I could live in without destroying the environment. Me and my friends frequent the area just to chillax away from my house, spending hours at a time down there. I love it. Either that or at my grandparents lake house.
